Stockfish Chess

I made this game for my kids, who got into chess. I wanted VR chess to feel playful and help new players improve.

Play against the Stockfish 19 chess engine, fully offline. Choose from 10 difficulty levels and change them anytime, even during a game. Start easy, learn, and gradually challenge yourself. You can also play online via Lichess or directly with friends.

Your pieces have unique voices and can whisper hints next to your ear when you're stuck. You get 3 hints and 3 undos per game, so you still have to think for yourself. Run out of hints or undos? Play 1 of 4 mini-games, including Maze, to refill them.

Use controllers or hand tracking to grab and move pieces naturally. Adjust the board's position, size, and rotation — even while lying down. Lock it in place when ready. Winning unlocks rewards. Unlock 12 unique themed sets by defeating opponents, then switch sets in real time. Pawn promotion gets its own interactive ceremony. Full chess rules are supported, including castling, en passant, checkmate, stalemate, and draws.

Your progress saves automatically. Mixed Reality lets you bring the board into your own space.
