Great early access VR chess game

I've never been particularly good at chess but I do enjoy playing and even more so in a VR setting. There are a couple boards to choose from in some nice fantasy settings. In front of you there is the standard chess board setup, initially it was hard for me to pick up pieces but this has since been addressed. As you grab pieces and play the game the action also plays out on a giant chess board in front of you with some minimal action to add to the game. It's a very nice welcome touch. The game also allows you to log into chess com and track your stats which is amazing. I was able to beat the ai (on the easiest level). There is also a lot of tutorials for new players so even if you have not played chess before this is a good place to start. Hopefully when some more accessibility options and boards are added this will definitely be a 5 star game. Would recommend

I've been waiting for this game!

I used to play chess in VR, but I eventually got bored with how simple and empty it felt. I’m so glad someone finally came up with something like this. With the official Chess com integration, it really feels like a breath of fresh air! I’ve always loved Harry Potter and played almost all the games based on it. As a casual chess player, I’ve often found myself wishing I could play something that felt like that. This game totally captures the Wizard’s Chess vibe (or should I say that "barbaric chess game"?). I’m really into it! I love the chess universe they are building. It has so much potential. I know it's in early access, but I’d love to see more piece sets, new animations, and maybe even customizable personal rooms in the future. Thanks for making this game. This is probably going to be my new “just one more match” addiction!

Best Quest VR Chess

This VR chess title for the Meta Quest headset is a great game. It's the best chess game in virtual reality, and it checks all the boxes for what a basic VR chess game needs. It adds some visuals and features that really make the most of the immersion that VR offers, putting you right into the game. The defining feature of this title is the ability to be on the chessboard in a first-person perspective, watching the animations of the individual chess pieces take place. This is what makes it different from any other chess game and is the main reason to get this game. The sound is adequate—it gets the job done. The graphics, however, could have been a bit better and were probably the most underwhelming part of the game. Still, this is a minor complaint, as the game offers a lot of other options, including various pieces and environments to play in. It also has a 2D view of the chessboard that comes in handy when you are in first-person view. You're playing chess, so the teleportation movement is fine, and it gives you a great look at the board from multiple angles. The freedom of motion is there, and overall, the game does a great job of bringing chess to VR. If you love chess and have a Quest headset, I would highly recommend this game. While I feel like there are a few things they could have fleshed out more, there’s no reason not to buy this game if you're a fan of the genre.

Battle Chess anyone?

This game brought back fond memories of a very old 80s DOS game called battle chess, where the game pieces attacked each other when you took the opponent's piece, before that computer chess was limited to flat symbols on a flat board it was ground breaking and made chess way more fun to play. This game is like that, it brings to life the pieces in VR you stand (or sit) above in an arena and move your pieces on a board in front of you or you can voice command them to move, and below in the arena they spring to action following your commands and battle it out or you can opt for a more traditional mode seated across from your opponent in front of a board. The game follows standard chess rules

Who knew chess could be this fun

I really didnt think chess was fun but this game makes it fun and in vr takes it over the edge . its single user or multiplayer i like that there are wizards ,creatures and elves which makes it unique and the voice command take the game over the edge . the chess pieces are very cool because they come to life . I like that you can choose the arena .This game has great graphics and music too
