A MUST HAVE FOR STRATEGY ENTHUSIASTS!

I feel like a God of War towering over the kingdom and literally leading the army to victory with just the tips of my fingers! The magic abilities are epic and it’s intriguing learning which unit is affective / non affective against certain enemy troops. If you enjoyed Airspace Defender, you’re definitely going to like this as well. Highly recommend! 🙌

Good North

I was a bit but off by this initially because I thought it looked a lot like a great game called Bad North, but I saw people saying it was turn-based, and I felt that wouldn't work. I'm glad I tried it anyway, because it is real time and not turn-based. It is a whole lot like Bad North, but on a bigger scale, which I'm glad of! This game is a lot of fun and a great quality game! The diorama style works perfectly for VR, and the use of hand-tracking works really well! Occasionally it doesn't know who you're grabbing but for tbe most part it works smoothly! I like the variety of units and enemies, the different settings and such, the upgrades, the heroes, the card approach, the towers... Now it isn't exactly a tower defense game but it is a defensive strategy game. Yet it is still lacking in some regards, as there are frustrating difficulty spikes. On the 2nd chapter there's one level that I cannot get 3 stars on however much I level up and it's midway through the chapter. Sometimes the levels are so widespread that it is hard to form chokepoints and get a good strategy. Units like the spearmen are a bit inconsistent with how they keep enemies at bay and they are very easily steamrolled at times even when you wouldn't expect them to be. There is a bit of a height advantage but not a massive one, especially if you set your troops up at the tol of a hill, and then the enemy unexpectedly circumvents you. The card system is cool but you don't really get enough points each round to spend them well. The barricades are pointless to purchase because it's more productive to spend those precious points on units. The barricades need to be worth 1 point and allow you to get more than 1 card each round. The farms are a cool idea to get more points each round but they are far too expensive. They should be 2 or 3 points each instead of 5. The Knight and Ranger units are awesome, but they make the earlier units useless when you have access to them. Reinforcements are a cool addition, even though they're wild. Great how you can add some shields to them! The powers of fireballs and a volley of arrows are really good! And how they look is so cool! The heroes themselves add a great unique dynamic. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses and their personal powers. Even though I still don't know what the warrior's Rally cry actually does. That's something that needs a description. But also cool how they get stronger as each wave comes! Sorry. I don't have discord and wanted to get my suggestions out somehow. Ha. This is a brilliant game. Just needs some of those balances round the edges to truly shine! Such a cool and impressive game, something you can play anywhere! Please keep making more and keep working at it! This is the innovative games that VR should be about!

Get comfy, prepare to lose a few hours

I didn't think I would get wrapped up in this game because mixed reality and hand tracking games usually mean frustration for me, but Banners and Bastions bucks that trend. The hand tracking works really well with a mere 40 watt bulb over my head while I curl up in my rocking chair. The levels are fun and not every attempt is easy, but if you fail, take heart, maybe the cards and enemies will go your way the next time. No two attempts have been the same. It has that roguelike addiction that makes you say "just one more level and then I'll quit for the day" and before you know it, hours have sped by. 5/5 for me. I'm not sure why this game is early access. It's a gem!

A must-have VR/MR experience!

Banners & Bastions is one of the best mixed reality strategy games I’ve played on Quest. Addictive gameplay, smooth mechanics, and a great skill tree system make it incredibly fun and rewarding. Huge potential for the future with new biomes, units, and powers. An absolute must-have in your library. 🙏 Thanks to the developers for this amazing game!

Don't think, just grab it!

Hey, did you play Bad North? Did you like it? Want to play it in VR, then this is for you! Didn't play Bad North but like strategy games in VR, then this for you! Either way this is well worth grabbing and having in your collection, so easy to keep going back to and having hours disappear! I love it!
