Games amazing. I actually got it for the Rift S or maybe the Oculus go back in the day. To my surprise I got this updated version for free. Combat is a mixture between xcom and the Mario & Luigi rpgs. Great music. Full voice acting. Very impressed with the mixed reality mode.

Nice graphics and art direction, professional voice acting, and a well written story can't save this game from becoming a bit boring at times. From a technical standpoint everything is solid, (once you switch to the controller based pointer mode). Playing in mixed reality on the Quest 3 feels very sci-fi. Unfortunately throughout the game you'll traverse through the same locations over and over again. It makes sense within the story but it becomes as routine as a commute to work. Luckily the dialogue is interesting which keeps the repetitive travel from becoming unbearable. The turn based combat also becomes very routine despite the characters' level progression. There's a lot of customization and upgrades, and while they do add complexity, they don't add excitement. Eventually I came to a point in the game where I only kept going out of the desire to see the story unfold, not because I still enjoyed playing it. Despite these criticisms I'm not sorry I purchased the game and put so many hours into it. It was a singular experience with many memorable moments, but it would have been more enjoyable if the story had been compressed or if it was a linear trek through more varied environments instead of all the backtracking.

This is simply a fantastic game. It’s so nice to play a game with longevity well thought out characters great game dynamics lovely visuals and I played this for three days solid and very happily wrote this review. Well done to all of the developers. Can’t wait for your next game.

Fantastic game with an interesting story. One of the best games to play if you just want to sit down and play a game with mixed reality. The mixed reality adds a star because being able to pet my dog while playing is great. The characters are interesting and the way the story unfolds is great. A lot of stages get reused for different battles but I kinda like that because it really feels like I know the city by now. Would love to see more games like this!

Of all the games I have played on the Quest 2 & 3 this is by far my all time favourite. I utterly loved it! I am a fan of turn-based games but this is unique & it uses the mixed reality in a great way. I was absorbed into the world it created, its style and its characters. Not everyone has the space that some VR games demand but this sits neatly to size for all room settings and doesn`t require any intense physical dexterity to play. I really hope the developers make more like this and I personally hope to see more games in this genre. My respect & gratitude to all involved in Augmented Empire for one of the best gaming experience I`ve had in my 50+ years.
