🔫 Fast, Stylish Arcade Action

Smasher is a solid cyberpunk arcade shooter that’s fun from the very first minutes. The tutorial is particularly well designed, introducing mechanics gradually across multiple levels without ever overwhelming the player. You’re always learning something new, but in a natural and enjoyable way. The level variety really stands out: hacking terminals while fending off enemy waves, dodging projectiles from massive end-of-level bosses, stopping enemies before they reach emergency buttons, and shooting drones attacking from all angles. The game avoids feeling linear, and the story unfolds smoothly as you progress. One of the most refreshing mechanics is the ability to grab in-game objects and throw them, adding fluidity and creativity to combat and reinforcing the arcade feel. Everything flows well, keeping the focus on fast, satisfying action rather than complexity for complexity’s sake. Stylish, dynamic, and well executed, Smasher is a highly recommended arcade shooter for players looking for intense action with smart design and cyberpunk flair.

Intense battle!

After years on the VR action market feels like all mechanics have been explored. Smasher pleasantly disrupts this pattern. The disposable weapon mechanic solves two problems at once: removes the reload routine and physically engages the player forcing them to make throws dodges and constantly seek new "toys." It's not just a "shooter" it's a "thrower" in the best sense. The level design is built around the idea of making a fresh gameplay conditions each level: protecting a button, hacking a terminal under fire, minding conveyor belts. This creates a multi-layered challenge requiring not just good aim but also attention management. The comparison to Superhot is apt in terms of purity of the core idea and to Borderlands in the spirit of its crazy arsenal dangerous reloading and atmosphere. For an indie studio this level of ambition is interesting.

“Smash First, Ask Questions Later”

This game is pure, fast-paced, neon fun from the moment you put the headset on. The gameplay is satisfying, combining quick reactions, physical movement, and that just one more round feeling that keeps pulling you back in. I do suggest you start with the tutorial; I didn’t and was a bit lost so restarted, and after playing the tutorial things made a whole lot more sense. Also I would ask the devs to look at a height adjustment option in the settings, if it’s there I missed it, I play a lot of games seated and could not quite get it set right so ended up playing standing. That said the VR mechanics are pretty spot-on, with smooth controls and great hand eye tracking that make the action feel natural and immersive. Whether you’re jumping in for a short burst or a longer session, VR Smasher delivers high-energy entertainment, replay ability, and a good sense of progression.

Really fun concept!

Bosses really shine, the best part of the game. Katana is also very satisfying. The gunplay is great, magic is cool... but man, I wish there was a tiny bit more feedback when you hit enemies with throwing. Sometimes in the chaos it's hard to tell if your throws are registered. Still, had fun.
