Amazing

To start off if you like anime I would recommend this game. Pros: •Personally I love the effects for magic in this game •Story: 4/5, The “arcs” in game some get more love then others •Bugs: None to report •Decent verity of spells to use •DLC in the works (from what I heard) •(Love the cutscenes when your about to fight a boss) •Enemies do get stronger and use new moves further u get in game Cons: •Wish there were more spells to use •Could of had better upgrades or the ability to upgrade spells themselves for more damage •Black screens in between each scene which can take away from the feeling of being the character •Shielding doesn’t feel natural (could just be me) •No side stories :( •Cool weapons on npcs that can’t be used •Would of loved to be able to use more spells during combat then just 1 normal 2 special and 1 ult Despite these cons I love this game for what it is and I think anyone at all interested in this game should definitely get it. I don’t think you would be disappointed ;)

Bland and lacking

I was so excited to play this game when it was revealed and that excitement was shot down by the repetitive gameplay and bland looking ruins themselves, the enemies animations are a bit stiff and the control like the way you reload the magic gauntlet is a bit off in my experience, there's also a lack of oculus scoreboard achievements which I thought would of been implemented since I feel it adds reply value and more to do. I suppose this is my fault for expecting to much maybe and listening to vr youtubers who keep saying the same crap about every game for example : the best vr jrpg or this game is amazing or comparing it to zelda which is so far from the truth! I will give the game this the small hub area is very good graphics that's it. If the devs read this then I hope you will kindly take my opinion into consideration and maybe update and add a bit more also adding achievements, but from what I have experienced I would not recommend this game until it has been updated a bit and please do not listen to these ridiculous youtubers who keep lying just to get views!!

Fatal UI flaw for some users

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but in its current state it’s miserable to play. I like the art style, character design, combat, and controls. Unfortunately some of the UI elements are nearly unusable. Most people don’t have an issue with it, I’m guessing they aren’t using the glasses spacer and / or they don’t have the IPD set to the widest setting. Shortly after launch I requested a refund because the dialog boxes were pinned to my face and so low that it was very difficult to read the dialog. If I tried looking down the box would move down, keeping the text in the blurriest part of the lenses, the very edge. I purchased the game again because it was on sale and I had read that the dialog boxes were fixed. They’re only partially fixed. You can now look down and read the text clearly…in the center at least. The edges of the character dialog are slightly blurry but readable. Unfortunately if you turn left or right to get a clear view, the box rotates with your head. The pause menu where you manage your inventory and spells is nearly impossible to use. It’s very wide and the left and right panels are right at the edge of the lenses and unreadable. When I turn to see what’s on the panels they move with my head so they’re never readable. The menu in the shop works exactly like I’d expect. It stays still so you can clearly see it by turning your head left and right. This is the way the menus in most games work. Pinning a menu to the players head in VR is always awkward and annoying. Pinning a menu that takes up the whole field of view is bad design in VR. Unless they fix this I’m stuck with an unplayable game in my library and wasted money. If the issue is ever addressed, I’ll update this review.

Thinking Out Loud Here

Hi! So I'll get the tldr out of the way first as a summary of the thoughts swirling around in my noggin. This is so cool and wow and it's not nearly as jarring as I expected. I love the content, but probably have a ton to go. So far so good. That *could* be because I'm fairly new to vr and don't have a standard set. To elaborate, I took a peek at the reviews, and I'm reminded of the reviews I'd see for just about everything other game out there. Some people are a bit picky about the content, some want more from the display, and some are thrilled that this game exists and that they had the opportunity to play it. I belong to that third category, and after the very recent experience of trying p*kemon s/v, I am now especially grateful to play a game that lacks bugs that affect rendering and performance. I think setting standards offers the community and developers an idea of what's good, and a starting point for where to expand and evolve. I think setting expectations lets us all know where we are, as to not confuse progress with going backwards. After all, changing directions can be progress too. But in reality, having a game that meets standards should be enough for the community half. Offering suggestions for improvement is great and healthy for the devs. *However*, dissatisfaction with a game that certainly doesn't fall behind its peers is redundant, and detracts from the productivity that comes from healthy communication and community. If you plan on (or could see yourself) being picky, this ain't it. If you'd like to play a neat game, I recommend it. 9ish out of 10 :)

Absolutely Amazing

I bought this game after hearing about the new title Knights of Fiona, and I came away very impressed. I remember hearing about this game a while ago, but it didn't pick it up for some reason, but now I wish I did! After completing it, I can honestly put it in my top ten games in VR. I thought the story was absolutely amazing. The combat was great as well, and I thought the dungeons were fun. Some of the atmospheres were absolutely amazing. They were some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen in a vr game for real. Lastly, the bosses were some of the best boss battles I have ever seen in VR, and there were plenty of them! My only complaints is that the music was too loud in certain points, and you couldn't hear what the NPC was saying at certain points. Mainly, this was because of the victory music. Also, reiterating what others have said, the placing of the items like potions and stuff in the centre of the chest isn't ideal, and the way you switch items also isn't ideal. But these things can easily be improved upon in the next game. Honestly, this is the JRPG of VR. Everything you can expect from a JRPG is in here and then some. I have no doubt the next game will be amazing, and I can't wait to see it!
