Don't be fooled by fake paid reviews...

I was so excited for this game and expected it to be a lot of fun, but there is almost ZERO control over your throws. I spent a while in the dojo thinking it was just me, but after a few experiments I realized that how you throw or release doesn't matter because the game can't properly read any of it. I actually took the time to carefully throw the disc lightly and with the same release a couple dozen times and it went a different way almost every time so there is no consistency AT ALL. I get better throw and release control on Wii Sports Frisbee Golf than on this dumpster fire.

Beautiful and Meditative

I have played real life disc golf (or frisbee golf) for over 10 years. I have tested different vr disc golf games such as the one in RecRoom. Disc Ninja is a fresh, pleasant and meditative redesign of how disc golf is played. Instead of multiple 9 or 18 hole three throw courses, you have huge 12+ throw courses that have multiple path choices with unique Japanese environments. The graphics, music and all around environmental sounds are superb. Throwing discs feels natural. Having the optional Aim-Assist available anytime with the touch of a button is well designed. This game is a must buy for any frisbee/disc golf enthusiast. However anyone with no experience can pickup and play this with no issues. Requests: - Multiplayer design is a total letdown. - Multiplayer with Friends: being forced out of the game to invite oculus only friends is a clunky design. Please consider simply having private rooms setup with room codes or passwords (check out Demeo or Synthriders which has some of the best multiplayer designs of any multiplayer Quest games) - Multiplayer with Random players: I was not able to connect with any online matches with random players. This needs to be an easy drop-in / drop-out ongoing game design. Not where you must wait, fill up and start a new match every time.

Went In Skeptical - Came Out A BIG Fan!

I'm not an avid golfer and have never got into frisbee, two things you'd think would be essential to like this game... Yet, the terrific game mechanics combined with the awe-inspiring level design had me enjoying every moment. They added an optional assist mode that made it easy and forgiving for us beginners - While really locking in the physics for more expert enthusiasts out there. I was kinda blown away by all the levels available to play here on day one and glad to see lots of room for expansions that could be added down the road. I found myself playing this over other mini golf games and enjoyed that you play non-stop at your own pace. It's not turn-by-turn based, it's a free-for-all mode that lets you play on without having to wait for the other players to make their tosses. That combined with multiple shortcuts (some hidden) along with secret collectibles really adds to the discovery and replayability of this game. I think you'll be surprised with how much you enjoy this one!

A disappointment beyond dull gameplay.

The caricature "accent" for the ninja in the tutorial is, frankly, unacceptable in 2021 and entirely unnecessary. It turned me off the game completely. I even left the game for a few hours and tried the tutorial again, thinking maybe it wasn't that bad. It's that bad. I agree with the other reviewer who said they went too heavy on the "Ninja" theme, making the game feel almost like a parody. There also doesn't seem to be a way to select a gender for your avatar; I guess they expect an all-male playing audience. That aside, the gameplay is, at least for me, dull. The scenery is pretty, but essentially you're moving through it a little bit at a time, as far as you can throw. In my case, not far. So it was throw, move a little, throw move a little. By the time I finished trying the second time, my wrist hurt. I didn't see any way to explore or wander. You only moved by following your disc. I'll be getting a refund. For the developers: You should change the "voice acting" for the tutorial ASAP. And consider some diversity in your office because this game never should have been released with that accent. It's shocking no one realized it.

pretty decent

It's really 4 stars but I wanted to balance out some of the unfair reviews. This game is pretty fun. The environments are relaxing and diverse which is what makes disc golf games fun in VR. The graphics aren't great though so a point off for that. Not bad but could be better. The levels are pretty big though. Gameplay is casual similar to something like Angry Birds VR where you go for 3 stars. There's a bunch of levels. Physics are good enough. If I miss a throw it always feels like it was my fault and not the game.
