This event is all about our little eight-legged friends. You'll find more spiders than usual in the shop, and they'll be cheaper! They attack anything that's caught in a web, so better bring some Web bombs and get a leg up! The event lasts until June 22.

I LOVE Demeo games but…

I love the original Demeo, it is one of my absolute favorite games, and I play it daily. When Demeo Battles came out, I was excited because I thought it was going to be another hit game like Demeo. And to some degree it is but playing this game for any extended period reveals some real issues that lie under the surface. To put it bluntly this game has a lot of bugs in it and because it’s been released for a while now and these bugs still exist it’s looking like nobody cares enough to do anything about them. Some notable issues that I have experienced are: Characters and lamps can occupy the same space which breaks the game making you unable to move. This just happened to me prompting this review. Multi player mode breaks if you’re the host and your character dies, it acts like the game starts over and starts the opening sequence again with the bell ringer and the coin flip to see who goes first. Often this happens two times before you can resume play. Then when it’s your turn to finally go it won’t let you move. There’s been other small glitches as well I’ve noticed that don’t break the game and are not worth going into here but man I really hope they dedicate like one person to fixing this. It kinda makes me not want to buy Battlemarked until I can be assured it won’t follow suit.

Fun, quicker version of Demeo

If you’re looking for a fun strategy board game that you can easily play with friends or solo this is a great option. I love the original Demeo, however, games can run several hours and this can be an inconvenience. With Demeo Battles games are much shorter - your turn is timed, and the board becomes smaller and smaller (burn areas appear that will start to damage your characters if they stand in them), forcing characters to come closer and closer together and preventing the battle from going on too long. Graphics have also gotten a boost which look really nice on the Oculus 3. There are new skins and maps as well. If you prefer a shorter game and are choosing between this and Demeo, I would recommend this. You have the option to add a CPU to your team or play against a CPU. You can also play online multiplayer games. Overall a fun spin off of Demeo.

Short, sweet, fun.

Loved the first Demo but it can be a huge time sink. The individual battles average around 15 minutes and can be configured in a variety of ways; single play, private play against each other or against AI, or multiplayer with strangers. I’m here for whatever Demeo plans next.

It's just gameplay of pvp, barely new content. It should be an update or add on sort of. 😪 No desktop version on Meta plaform! 😪 No PC VR version on Meta plaform! 😪 If I only knew, I would definitely buy it from Steam (which has PC VR and Desktop versions)

The game that shouldn’t exist

Huge Demeo fan. Demeo Battles is… very meh. You don’t control the monsters, so they tend to battle it out amongst themselves while you square off with the other heroes. I weep thinking of all the effort that went into Battles over the past year vs. the base game and more adventures (which we would have gladly paid for over and over… see Walkabout Mini Golf as example). That’s where the effort should have gone, IMO. This is more or less a misfire.
