Best Free Gorilla Tag-Like Games on Meta Quest (2026)

Looking for more games with physical hand-driven movement after Gorilla Tag? These five free Meta Quest picks go in different directions: social survival, sandbox building, horror, and camouflage hide-and-seek.

Gorilla Tag is still the obvious place to start if you want to move with your arms instead of a thumbstick. But “Gorilla Tag-like” has become a much wider thing now. Some games keep the social chase energy, some turn it into horror, and some mostly borrow the satisfying hand-driven movement for climbing and parkour.

I picked free Quest games from AltLab’s Gorilla Tag-like categorybe worth trying

1. Animal Company

Animal Company is the obvious first stop if what you really want is a busy social VR game with friends, proximity chat, weird gadgets and constant things going wrong. It is not trying to be a clean Gorilla Tag clone. The hook is co-op survival: haunted forests, labs, caves, monsters, loot and enough physics toys to make a public lobby turn into nonsense pretty quickly.

It is a huge game by this niche’s standards. The current Quest snapshot has it at 4.8 from 210,138 ratings, which is enough signal to say it has found an audience. Try it if you like the spontaneous, social part of Gorilla Tag more than tag itself.

2. Yeeps: Hide and Seek

Yeeps takes the physical multiplayer energy in a more sandbox direction. You get hide and seek, prop hunt, PvP, team modes and a creative side where players can build their own worlds and contraptions. That last bit matters: it gives you more to do once you are tired of simply running the same maps.

Its Quest listing is currently sitting at 4.8 from 86,109 ratings. If your favourite Gorilla Tag sessions are the ones where everyone forgets the intended game mode and starts making their own fun, Yeeps is probably the best fit here.

3. Scary Baboon

Scary Baboon is for the people who want the same frantic movement but would rather spend it escaping something horrible in a dark room. It is a multiplayer horror game built around monsters hunting you and your friends, with the usual chance for a friend to save you or absolutely abandon you.

The important part is not just the baboon skin. It uses the kind of physical scrambling and panic that makes this movement style work so well in horror. It currently has 4.7 from 70,983 ratings on Quest, so this is not one of those tiny tag-game listings with a good-looking store page and no real player base.

4. I Am Chameleon

I Am Chameleon is the newest and weirdest pick here. It is a hand-movement hide-and-seek game where you paint yourself to match walls, props and textures, then try to disappear while everyone else is scrambling around the map.

That camouflage idea gives it a real reason to exist beyond being another tag game with a different animal skin. It is still Early Access, so this is a watch-it-grow recommendation rather than a finished classic, but the current Quest signal is promising: 4.7 from 2,130 ratings since its July 2026 release.

5. Monkey Doo

Monkey Doo keeps the monkey theme but gives it a slightly different setup: Bermuda Triangle maps, climbing, throwing, banana collection and co-op survival. There are also cosmetics, public sessions and more modes on the way, so it feels more like a social hangout with things to do than a single competitive loop.

It currently has 4.6 from 10,971 ratings. I would try this one with friends first. It looks like the kind of game where the best stories come from a group messing about, finding a strange route or failing a survival round together.

There are a lot of rough copies in this corner of Quest, so I would not download every game with gorilla, monke, or ape in the title. These five at least have real rating depth and distinct reasons to exist.
