WiVRn lets you run your VR games from your Linux PC and play them from your Meta Quest over WiFi.
You will need the WiVRn server available on flathub at https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.wivrn.wivrn

Thank you guys so much for putting this out there! I've found it to be a far more comfortable experience than ALVR, and that it works better with my machine (cachyOS, AMD). I'll make sure to donate once I can, especially since this is an open source project. Now to ditch Windows completely.

I was struggling trying to get ALVR to work properly for me, literally just for an initial connection and then I stumbled across this software. Its connection is seamless, just be on the same WIFI and the desktop and Quest discover each other fine. The connection quality is great (though probably depending on your specific internet. I would assume if you have crappy internet it won’t be as great). And no features are missing. On my computer I can just launch a VR game, for example Phasmophobia, and it connects perfectly. Overall an exceptional FREE software that makes Linux life easier.

Working my way through Half Life: Alyx with this! For HL:A specifically envision is a nice project too - makes it straightforward to use an OpenConnect branch that supports Alyx ('alyx' branch of OpenMoonclaw's OpenOVR tree).

I can get games to load, they look good, and run smoothly but there's always a game breaking bug such as dlc not working or being in the floor with no way to center the view. Another game the controls didn't work. 😩

This app is just what you need if you have a Steam Deck and don't want to deal with SteamVR running through ALVR. Remember to set the resolution to 50% before you launch any XR app on it.
