Amazing to play in a beanbag chair

Ride a minecart tilting your body left and right avoiding stuff, I admit I didn't really think this way anything special at first beyond being well made technically. Then I decided to play it on my bean bag chair which allowed for amazing freedom to move my body and it quickly felt like I was sitting in a minecart for real. One of my favorite games!

Remember the mine cart scene from Indiana Jones? Swap Indy with Han Solo and that's Warchasm! This game has it all! Great shooting, great leaning/dodging and a killer soundtrack. You get a good workout while dodging lasers, debris on the tracks and some well placed doors. This game is one of my go to games when I have 20 mins to quick play something. There is no locomotion to worry about and the game looks great and runs smooth on the Quest 2. Every world is varied and has great surprises in store! A space shooter with a spooky aesthetic

Man have I been waiting for this game to leave early access… I enjoyed the game back then and I still enjoy it now. So what is this game about? Well let me ask you this… Do you remember going to Disney World and going on the Buzz Lightyear ride where the seats spin around because you control them? The ride was called Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, you shot at aliens to rack up some points and the ride would conclude itself with a boss battle against Zerg who just flies around trying to avoid your lasers. Warchasm is exactly like the Buzz Lightyear ride in VR, except the tone is darker and the aesthetic is much creepier, especially if you’re like me and you play all of your VR games with the music turned off. Don’t worry, this is not a horror game, you’re only inside of a mine cart that is progressively exploring an alien world, you’re constantly going through a black void although you can see the walls around you, and you’re waiting for whatever alien robot is flying around trying to kill you, only to inevitably get shot down. If you have played Gazzlers, this game is no different aside from the somber tone. Supposedly the game is still being developed, meaning we are getting bigger bosses and whatnot, but the bosses as I am writing this review are essentially shooting galleries, you stop in your tracks and you kill the remaining robots, and you unlock the next level. If you want to play what feels like a roller coaster experience wit the shooting but you don’t care for the ‘roller coaster’ aspect , give this game a try.

Fantastic port from pc

I'm not sure how but the dev has managed to make the game look and run even better on quest, fantastic job. Given this or pistol whip I'd rather play this game every time, I just have more fun playing warchasm

Great physical on rails shooter

This game is more than just a simple on the rails wave shooter, the added physics of moving to avoid obstacles or traps, whilst tilting your cart, make this a bit of a physical workout too. The detail in the animations of the enemies or traps are clear and smooth, I have seen no signs of any slow down even when there are a number of enemies firing on screen. The cart is constantly moving at the same pace meaning that the majority of the time you will have to keep on moving to preserve your life. Shooting mechanics are accurate and you have the addition of a shield which you access at times of being overrun, plus a choice of special weapons which are accessed from over your shoulder. The further you progress in the game the morre stars you gain which will open later levels. With 3 levels of difficulty on the 5 locations, the harder the difficulty the more enemies and obstacles you will face. This game is another brilliant example of an indie developer experimenting with some original ideas and making a really fun vr experience.
