This is the Most Unique Game Ever

First off I went into this game with zero expectations and I think that’s the best way to play something as creative and different as VVR2. It’s an adventure game, it’s a puzzle game, it’s mini game game, it’s an interactive movie that feels like a dream that you had when you were 8 years old after eating too much ice cream. All other game developers should take note of the complexities this game did here, this is the future of VR gaming. I read some other reviews about the sound issues where characters dialogue being too quiet at times, I noticed that too but it seems to happen when you walk away from the person who is talking to you… just like in real life. So maybe listen to the characters if you want to hear what they say? Also this game just released, it’s gonna have some bugs just give the devs a week or whatever and they’ll fix it, don’t leave a low review that’s rude, then other people will miss out on this if they see the reviews are low. Some other guy said it’s too weird?? Ok, go back to playing boring games if you don’t like a game that challenges the concept of what a narrative should be. This game rules. Bravo. The End.

Disappointing

This is the first vr game i bought that felt like a chore to play. I deleted it without finishing it. WAste of money for me. I really tried to like it and at least played for 5 hours all of which were mostly frustrating. The environment deisgn was cool but everything else was not. I loved the first game so much and this was just completely different. It felt very childish idk if it was supposed to be aimed towards children, but the eerie mysterious feeling that came with some of the environments in the first game was not here. It was graining to my ears listening to some of the character dialogue. Devs I'm so sorry for this bad review, but it was a very bad experience when i had very high hopes from the expectations set by the first game which i still love and play. Maybe a child would enjoy this but it was not what i was expecting and it was not for me at all.

It’s a game that exists and has things

You start off by doing something and after that something else happens then when your done with the thing that happened something else occurs then something catatasrophic goes on and people don’t like each other for some reason or another then you have to hit a non person but it’s still a person it’s just not one then the person is your friend after the friendship occurs you have to beat up many more of your friends then you have to beat up the guy who is not your friend to save your friend who you have to beat up and jokes aside if you ever do make a new game I would love to play test it

Just wtf

I hate to give negative review… This game however should really be avoided - almost every other experience for the price is better than this one. I was constantly confused about what is going on, the story is convoluted and absurd, there is no sense of direction or progress and the whole thing is just one big wtf moment. I quit when a creepy guy was whispering some nonsense into my ear while forcing me to play a wierd beat saber clone. Some people might call this creativity, I would call it grabbing random absurd ideas and splicing them together. Just avoid this one, some games are sadly just a miss.

all you need to know (v1.704)

I could talk about this game for days, but sadly no one has the time, so lemme go over some key points: the no thank you: -bugs if you hunt for them (but way less than at launch) -characters’ animations look unnatural at times -some segments are very tedious, usually because too much combat or backtracking (Tuscan Alley and The Topiary come to mind) -the main plot doesn’t progress for much of the game so it feels a bit rushed when it wraps up towards the end -there are times when the humor feels tonally satirical, but also so random that the real world connections are muddled, so it comes off a little.. snotty for lack of a better word (not an issue with VVR1) -segments where you listen to dialogue with no interaction are occasionally longer than necessary -mech platforming takes some getting used to (the game introduces a new locomotion option soon enough though) -starts off rather slow Neutral Differences from VVR: -entirely different set of mechanics, save teleporting, grappling objects, and a repurposed vacuum -no horror -less mystery surrounding the story -more challenging/fast-paced gameplay -more open-ended levels the yes please: -10+ hour campaign for 20 bucks -Tender Claws’ usual great visual design -fantastic soundtrack -contrary to popularity I found the mech controls to be super satisfying after a while -the platforming sections in particular feel really cinematic from in the mech, with a lot of large-scale moving parts to them -the weapons are all incredibly unique, and each has multiple uses that allow for creative strategy in combat -strange mini-games and boss fights constantly switch things up -well thought out plot and world-building that expand upon the concepts of VVR1 -the characters and their dynamics are well written and made me laugh a few times -the avatars in the mech feel alive; even though you can’t talk, whenever there’s a conversation going on, there’s usually some nonchalant way you can contribute that they’ll react to -made with love and small details that you probably won’t even notice tldr; This is one of those rare cases of a game that for every egregious thing it does wrong, it’ll also go and do something truly special that you just can’t get out of any other game. Whether you have the patience to put up with that is up to you, but for me personally, it was 100% worth the ride.
