The role of the VAR is to assist the referee to determine whether there was an infringement that means a goal should not be awarded. As the ball has crossed the line, play is interrupted so there is no direct impact on the game.
-The referee informs the VAR, or the VAR recommends to the referee that a decision/incident should be reviewed.
-The video footage is reviewed by the VAR, who advises the referee via headset what the video shows.

The concept of the app is pretty unique, I enjoyed the experience. The devs came up with a funny concept. If you enjoy to judge about different questionable situations in soccer games this is your chance 🙂 The game is at a reasonable price, definitely worth it imo.

I was intrigued by the idea behind this app and picked it up on sale for £1.99. The concept has real potential: review a series of VAR decisions and see whether you agree with the referee. Unfortunately, the execution feels very limited. WHAT WORKS • The core idea is genuinely interesting and could be developed into something engaging. • The experience is short and easy to get through. • The interface is simple. • There’s a basic 3D stadium environment and some match audio, which adds a little atmosphere. • It does loosely deliver on the premise of reviewing VAR clips. WHAT DIDN’T WORK FOR ME • The footage plays on a very low‑resolution flat screen, which makes decisions harder to judge. • The experience doesn’t feel particularly “VR”. It’s more like watching clips on a large floating TV. • It’s sometimes unclear which team is attacking or which team the decision relates to. • Offside lines can be difficult to see due to the resolution. • You only get one short replay and can’t freely rewatch the original clips. • The entire experience lasted about 25 minutes, even after rewatching several clips. • There’s no summary or score at the end, so you don’t know how many decisions you got right. • The biggest missed opportunity is the lack of multiple angles or time pressure — the things that make real VAR challenging. OVERALL The idea has promise, but in its current form it feels underdeveloped, especially for something that’s been in the store since 2024. With more angles, clearer visuals, and a scoring system, it could become something genuinely engaging. As it stands, it wasn’t right for me, so I’ll be requesting a refund.
