A ZOMBIE GAME TO RIVAL THE BEST

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this game & previous reviews on other platforms were not wrong, this game is just outstanding, possibly not as good in the graphic department as Saints & Sinners or Arizona Sunshine but they really fit well in this game. The story is so engaging, you just don’t want to stop playing. I’m 75% in and am really having a lot of fun. Gun mechanics are spot on, also it’s great fabricating upgrade and finding the lost toys is adds to the experience. I can’t thank the devs enough for bringing this to Quest, it was on my wishlist as soon as I .saw the trailer. Bravo Five Finger Studios.

I jumped the gun a little too early..

So far, the game is incredibly average. At times, dipping below that. The graphics are dookie, the melee combat using your knife is an absolute joke, and the story is only interesting if youve never heard the word "zombie" before. But,the biggest issue im having with the game so far, (im about an hour and a half in) is what does it do to stand out from all of the other dozens of zombie games? So far, not a thing, and that really twists my nipps. There's been a drought in good VR games lately so I quickly jumped on this when I saw a few good reviews on it. If you're as jaded on the zombie genre as I am, stay away. It just ain't it, chief.

Fantastic Zombie Adventure

I have finally finished playing the game and I must say that I was very impressed. Just to let you know that I have played pretty much all of the zombie games available on Meta Quest including all the Arizona Sunshine games, Drop Dead, The Cabin, Zombieland, After the Fall and I am happy to have added this game to the collection. The game play (story) is very captivating and you are always tempted to continue after each completed segment. The feel of the game is awesome as you can move around quite smoothly and you can use your hands to move around objects or open doors or containers besides the obvious shooting..You will have to get used to reloading your weapons and staying calm because when the zombies come ate you the panic sets in and you can easily fumble around and lose everything from your hands. The choice of weapons are great but you have to earn them after completing numerous rounds. Don't forget to check every corner or behind boxes for ammo and filament which you will need to upgrade your arsenal. I was very pleased by the graphics, atmosphere and surroundings...The sounds of the zombies are there ! There was a part in the game that you are in the sewers and you have to wade through the water ( even chest high)..The splash sound was there..You even have to swim under the water at one point. In conclusion this is a must have for Zombie fans out there...You wont regret it. Don't listen to the negative comments out there. Thumbs up to the developers of this game..You will have to come up with another zombie sequel for sure !

Great Budget Zombie Corridor Shooter.

Highly enjoyable. Surprisingly involving.Nothing new by any means, but this is a great old-school corridor shooter that reminds me of classics like Half-Life 2 more than it does Arizona Sunshine( Though if you like AZ, you'll probably enjoy this). The atmosphere is more Dawn Of The Dead than Walking Dead and the music and sound further cement that feeling. The graphics, whilst not flashy are clear, atmospheric and have really good depth: The general feeling of immersion is spot on. Gun-play is fun and fluid, melee is simpler than it's peers but fits well with the general direction of the game. Climbing is actually ENJOYABLE! The story isn't anything mind-blowing, but it's well written and as a package everything coheres so nicely. I think that for a 2 man Dev team this is a fantastic piece of work. It seems they set out to make a quality, fun and involving classic zombie shooter experience, with masterful level design that skillfully shepherds you through it's environment in a way that isn't generally done anymore. In fact much of the game design here is so considered and thoughtful that I decided against knocking a star off for the occasional stutter because that would be peevish. The Living Remain is fun, absorbing, immersive and superb value for money. It's also obviously made by people who love this project like it is their actual child. It really shows. With indie micro-team games like this, Metacity patrol, The Infinite Inside, By Grit Alone and Stellar Plans available on the Quest, I couldn't really care less if AAA companies never make another V.R game. This is what your Quest was made for: Labours of love produced by an indie cottage industry as inspired and absorbing as it was back in the days when games came on cassette tapes.

Cool zombie game

Feels like a budget Arizona sunshine with a bit more horror elements. Great game but it has three problems I’ve found early on: 1. When playing seated the holsters are still too low even on max height. I’m 6’1 if that helps. There also too inside my body when sitting. 2. When grabbing items you have to be too accurate and can easily not grab things like drawers your first time. 3. It’s feels impossible to catch a partially empty magazine while ejecting it. Making me need to pick up the magazine off the ground every time with finicky grab mechanics. It’s really annoying. Great game overall and remember, aim for the head!
