Very addictive & an excellent workout!

UPDATE: Arcade Mode I'm not going to lie, Sucker Punch VR did fall down my list of games I play after a while, and that's not unusual with VR games as you want to try new things. I hadn't got bored of it, it's just other games get released and it's easy to forget about certain games. Then I was browsing Facebook and saw the ad for the new Arcade Mode and immediately went and played it. Wow! Sucker Punch has jumped straight back up to the top of my games I want to play. Sound FX have improved (may have happened before the new Arcade Mode) and the new mode is brilliant!! I'd like to also repeat what I suggested in my original review - My favourite game on the Oculus from the very beginning is Racket: Nx and it has remained my favourite game after over a year of owning an Oculus. No game has ever replaced the addictiveness of it. The reason for this is a) The Arcade Mode is amazing (same as Sucker Punch's Arcade Mode) b) It's a decent workout (Sucker Punch is a better workout!!) and c) I can play my own music while playing (which would be the icing on the cake for Sucker Punch). Sucker Punch has two of the three things that kept me coming back to Racket Nx. It just needs the option to play your own music!!! Especially if I get better at the Arcade Mode, there's potential for a 30+ minute workout in this mode and when people workout they like to listen to there own music. Sure the music in Sucker Punch is fine, but if you're playing for 30 minutes it gets repetitive as there isn't a lot of different music to listen to. I would like to hear the Developer's thoughts on this? Highly highly recommended game! Well done!!! ___________________________________ I don't think I have updated a review as many times as I have for this game. My first impressions were that this was fun, nothing special, but now after playing this for an extended period I have found myself hooked and wanting to be the first game I play when I start a session on the Oculus. PROS + Addictive!! Playing against an opponent, making sure you win so you don't lose your gloves (that you have taken time to purchase with the in-game currency) is at times nerve-wracking! You can use the currency to take out insurance so you don't lose the gloves, but that's wasting your money you've taken time to build!! +You eventually build up a game plan for each match with the equipment you buy to try and counter your opponent's game plan. Again, addictive!! +The added bonus here is while this is very addictive, you are also having a superb workout making you sweat while having a lot of fun!! +Very well presented (if a little too in your face at times!) +Leagues, Multiplayer (currently beta) and fun daily challenges +Developers respond to criticism very quickly and are very open to ideas. SUGGESTIONS * I would like the opportunity to play my own music while playing. Would definitely add longevity to this awesome game. But it's not essential. * While playing I continuously thought a cool "voice guy/gal" making in-game announcements would make the game even better!! VR Pong!

I cannot fault this game... seriously, I'm trying to thing of something that is wrong with the game and I can't think of anything. This game will give you a good workout and if playing online with friends, you'll have a good laugh too! Essentially you must punch blocks back at your opponent and not let blocks get past you... sounds simple right? Now add in floating bots and different glove powers and it's a whole new challenge! Fun, Fast and good for Fitness!

Sucker Punch can best be described as taking classic elements of volley games (think of pong and wii tennis), putting them in a VR environment and ratcheting up the intensity and speed. I picked up the rhythm pretty easily, and found the higher levels in league play to be pretty challenging, in a good way. I enjoyed the power up gloves the to mix things up (the shield is my personal fave). Also, this game was a workout. I’ve played several rounds for 30 to 45 minutes and got a good sweat going - you’re definitely going to test your reflexes here. It’s super fun, and at a pretty good price. Highly recommend for those looking for something fun and fast paced to keep you moving.

App Lab gem and great exercise

To start, this should be on the official store. This has a simple base concept but does it well. Think Pong from the 70’s, add in boxing, and bring it perfectly into VR. Clean graphics, great progression with a good risk/reward system, and unique upgrades. I’ve found that increasing haptics and boosting volume on sound effects does improve the feedback. Definitely a full body experience (though obviously more upper than lower body). The one on one duel aspect brings some similar feels as I get from Blaston. A few things I’d like to see would be some more environments and music…..or even better, pass through mode (like Blaston) and ability to play your own music (or YouTube) in game. Otherwise, an awesome VR experience!

Fantastic game

If you've played any other VR boxing game before, you'll see that Sucker Punch has really refined the game by adding power-ups to the game. You can now use different power-ups, and you can use them in different ways; you can also select your favorite power-ups in each hand. I think the gameplay is pretty much perfect because it is easy to play and hard to master. I definitely recommend this game for fans of VR boxing.
