Great app for watching movies

This is a great way to experience as close as you can these days of being in a movie theater. It’s awesome being able to watch movies on such a big screen. My only wish is that it had a way to watch Netflix or Disney+ or any other streaming services as well, since Netflix’s vr app doesn’t look very good or have very good resolution. Mirroring your computer desktop screen would be a great feature as well. This has got to be my most used app on my Oculus Go. Love it!

Exactly what I want in a VR video player

I was very disappointed with the Oculus video player not working for half of my saved movies, and being unable to move the screen. Skybox fixed all of that, and has a great interface and menu system. The theater venue looks amazing, and I love being able to move the screen anywhere on the space station or void venues. Can also zoom in or out on screen. The auto format detection works wonderfully, as well. Perfect video player.

Get this app if enjoy frustration

So I’ve spent maybe the most frustrating day or two of my life trying to get simply get media to stream from my MacBook to my oculus go. I give up. The Mac client on this doesn’t work at all. Apparently you can easily stream videos from your home computer with apps like Plex? Hmm can’t find one set of instructions anywhere that will even give me the slightest hint on how to do this. If I open my Plex folder in network tab there’s nothing in it. Your guess is as good as mine as to how to get a single video file to appear there. At first I liked this oculus unit but I am likely returning it over this. I don’t know who has this kind of time to troubleshoot something for this long and get nowhere. Don’t bother if you use a Mac.

Great!

This is the best movie viewing app for the Oculus Go. I would even happily pay $$$ for a Pro version that gives more environments. While Bigscreen VR has the best environments, Skybox allows you to play LOCAL files off a USB or headset storage, something Bigscreen seems to equate technologically with a moon landing. Keep up the great work, devs. Just want more environments!

Best player there is

Skybox is fantastic. Have yet to see a better player. Will there be an update to be able to watch with friends? My buddy is getting an oculus and I just downloaded plex, to be able to watch my movie library with him, and it’s terrible compared to Skybox. Would love it if that feature was integrated into skybox, it’s the only thing left wanting so far. Great work.
