Revisit lets you explore real places at different points in time using Google Street View. Search for a location, choose from available imagery dating back to 2007, and look around in 8K 360°.
Grab the Time Rift and drag it across the scene. One side shows the place today. The other shows an earlier date.
Choose the dates you want to compare, then change the Rift with glow, glitch, vintage, and other effects.
Point to where you want to go and walk there. Keep choosing your next spot to move through the streets step by step.
Use the satellite map to see where you are, change direction, or jump to another location.

My grandpa really loves it. He hurt his knee before, so he can’t travel far anymore. He likes sitting on the couch using it to relive his life, sharing stories and memories from his past with us. There aren’t many VR experiences that he can enjoy for over an hour without getting tired, but this one he can.

Very good idea and very well implemented. Search for a location on the map or enter an address, and you can set the current photo back years with a single swipe, if Google took pictures back then. I had network problems with the app, but the developer took me by the hand and solved it. Thank you very much for that, I am thrilled.

The concept of VR time travel is really cool — it’s amazing to see old VR photos from more than a decade ago. I even let my grandpa, who has limited mobility, try it out, and he absolutely loved “traveling” with it.

I’ve always liked Google Maps style apps. The time comparison is a great idea. This update finally lets you move around in Street View. And the HD mode looks really clear and the improvement is easy to see. Overall it just feels better to use. Loving it so far.

Even though it’s still in early access, it really surprised me. I was able to see my old school in VR, the streets from 10 years ago, and even the old SUV I used to drive.
