Great but not great

My experience with this one was a bit of a rollercoaster. First impressions were great. Lovely looking cityscape reminiscent of Mirror's Edge had me hooked and the intro section set me up for something fun. Then I just couldn't enjoy the tutorial on traversing the city using the grapple system. It was on one hand smooth and on the other hand awkward to deal with for certain moves. Ultimately I started to get more used to swinging around and could traverse the city pretty well but precision wasn't really attainable. Getting into the story introduced me to the mixture of mini games that make up the various interactions around the city and I was really growing to enjoy it. Being able to choose which to play meant sticking to the events I could enjoy. Then came the cardinal sin of not only introducing timed events, an absolute nightmare for a game with controls like this, but forcing the player to take part in a timed marathon of mixed events *as a story requirement*. Blocking story progression behind an extremely irritating and difficult event is an instant put off. One part of the event in particular being especially frustrating as it involved trying to make it through a low level area on the grapples immediately after being made to jump from a high roof, making it nigh on impossible to obtain an appropriate grappling point at the correct height, especially with a ridiculously small window of time to achieve it. It soon became too irritating to repeatedly be screwed over on this ridiculous requirement, any sense of fun or reward was gone, deletion soon followed. Never lock your story behind a timed event, especially one that requires a level of control likely to be unobtainable early in the game, and this goes tenfold for a VR game with full motion.

Wow

Incredible. The crazy post about motion sickness makes me laugh - those who want a VR experience want a game like this - immersive, empowered to do things you can’t do in real life. Man, this game has it all - storyline, freedom, immersion, sense of flying… If you came to VR to feel like you are in an alternate universe doing incredible things and believe it - this is your game. The motion review negativity peeps - get a console. This game is one of the best! Let’s get some DLC or a Resist 2 - well done!

Awesome... but

I love this game so much. I've played it thru multiple times. And I sometimes go in and just raise the threat level so I can just shoot drones and the big robots. But - the game is actually quite glitchy. I've fallen thru buildings and thru the actual ground. The big robots sometimes walk thru the buildings. I've even had it glitch while I was hacking a billboard. If those issues were resolved, I would say this is the best game I've ever played on VR. Despite its flaws, I still love it tho. :)

I've seen better games on Roblox

Bruh... What are these reviews about this game being anything above a 1/5. let's think about this game for just a minute: 1. I am forced to play a female character throughout the story who I CANT ABSOLUTELY RELATE AT ALL, in fact the cheesey remarks about how MUCH THIS FEMALE CHARACTER LOVES HER FRIEND IS SO UNRELATABLE I kinda just made up my own story... as I have never seen them or even did anything with them. WHY DOES MY CHARACTER ACT LIKE SHE CARES LMFAO, please for the love of every indie game just make a mute button or give me a quiet male character 2. The city border are literally next to the ocean, like what 😂😂😂. Seriously I have never seen such a lazy terrain transition and that is coming from someone that used to play racing and city games that are from the 2000s. 3. Battery drainage is incredible with this game, I have never played an oculus game that is so quick to drain my quest 2. I believe it takes about an hour for this game to drain your quest 2 4. The story is really just 1 hour, at one point you will forget about side quests, unless your a mindless robot you will absolutely just keep going until the BIGGEST PLOT TWIST IN GAMING HISTORY the developer basically says you got to increase your resistance progression to 50% so you can continue to the final mission lmfao, their goes my refund for this sorry excuse game 5. The final boss no joke... Is a cube 😂😂😂. No I am serious, you thought I was joking I will literally make a YouTube channel and show you. Out of everything this game showcased, this is beyond rediculus I would admit that a story based Roblox game about someone being bullied is Way more satisfying as a story to this epic disappointing game lmfao 6. The only true reason I bought this game is so I could play a open world game, fight giant robots, and to some extent swing like a spider boy, other than that everything else is a joke, I wished this game released sooner because I would Have definitely gave it a higher review 7. I beat and bought this game on the day I gave it a review, also here is some famous lines by the character you play: I am going after that company because it stole my friend I want a day off Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Yes these are the only things I can remember out of the bunches, mainly more concerned about friend or whatever Honestly I will just make my story when my phone battery is charged, and write that in the review. In all, this game is terrible but what other game is not terrible on this platform, I don't believe I will get a refund simply because this game is what I wanted it for... everything else is like over layered cake but whatever I guess Thank you developer for making a stupid game that I won't refund probably

Better Than Untangled or Spider-Lair

Listen, if you want a proper VR Spider-Man game, you may be out of luck however, this gets the job done for now. I’ve tried Spider-Lair and Untangled which both let me down in the Spider-Man experience side of things. The controls of those games just don’t feel right and the tutorials are a let down. This game changes all of that. While it may not be perfect I’m able to look past the issues and truly enjoy this game. Yes, I have experienced glitches on 3 different occasions so far and yes, I’ve had a problem trying to turn building highlighting off but this game still gets a good review from me. The swinging is unmatched, going at speeds no other Swinging game has done so far. The guns feel good to use and the puzzles are challenging, yet fun! I give this game a 8.5/10 Id love any form of customization, a bigger city to explore, more gun variety, and maybe a few more gadgets.
