Enjoyable but nothing groundbreaking
Well I was going to get Genotype but this popped up on App Lab and the trailer looked cool- like a mix of Crisis Brigade 2, Dead Second and the PSVR game Synapse (which I haven't actually played). I did lower my expectations once I found out the game was 7 years old and originally made for PSVR but it had a nice sci-fi action aesthetic and I like straightforward FPS games so gave it a try. The graphics are pretty good and remind me a bit of Drop Dead Dual Strike. There are 5 levels/missions in total and each one offers a good variety of environments, where you move from point to point, shooting bad guys. You can also use your telekinesis type powers to grab objects, grenades and bigger guns along the way. Objects can be launched at enemies or used as shields. You can also lift stunned enemies and blast them in the air or grab enemy grenades and throw them back at them! Controls are a bit fiddly at first but you get used to them quickly. Grip to activate/deactivate gun and triggers for using telekinesis powers (when gun is deactivated). Although I found the game fun, it's not particularly challenging or complex and in some ways almost feels a like a demo or 'experience'. Seasoned VR players will breeze through the levels on 'novice' mode. I do think the game should be a little cheaper and/or offer more levels as there are definitely better games at this price point and cheaper games that offer the same thrills. Overall though I'm satisfied and will keep it. brohtiwgnir/ee.rtknil Update: Bumped up rating to 4 stars as expert level def provides more of a challenge plus I appreciate all devs who respond graciously to reviews :) Lastly, I recommend a fairly big play area to make full use of surroundings for cover!
