Did you guys play any pool?

So physics for the balls are good and even the English you can add is pretty good even if a bit heavy. The environments seem cool. The wacky cues are pretty cool too. Setting stakes is awesome. The social factor is on point. The problems are coming up to the table and taking position. I got used to it after a bit. The issue that I find glaring and difficult to deal with is the way the game forces you to hold your cue. Nobody in any pool hall I've been in (I've frequented a few daily for a few years) ever chokes up on the back end of the cue.... ypur hands are almost never supposed to be a half a foot apart. I would gladly give this game 5 stars if not for this. You should be able to change your hands position on the back of the cue to be farther back. I'm going to leave my review at 2 stars as this issue makes the game feel unnatural which is not the goal of any physics based VR game. I'll change if the devs fix this issue in an update. Just hope it happens quick before people begin refunding as this issue might be enough for some to do so.

ForeVR Pool is such fun!

I’m 70 years young…. and I have 16 grandkids and am always looking for ways to connect. And, curious about vertual reality, I decided to get my own head set after experiencing it a bit on one of my grandsons gear. (I find that when I tell my grandkids that I bought my own Meta Quest 2 Vr, they spark up and I become the cool grandpa!) I have always enjoyed the old fashion sports like pool and bowling. But when I saw these were things being offered in virtual reality, I was a bit skeptical. But I must say that the experience has been delightful! I didn’t expect to find the type of real game experience as I’m finding in ForeVR. And because of the great things that they have already accomplished, I feel assured that there are likely only great things ahead. To be certain, there is stuff that possibly can be improved on. But as I see it, no one builds something this well, and not have big plans ahead. There was one glitch I did notice and which I reported to them immediately. They responded back quickly and assured me that they know about it and are working it out. And I'm confident that they are! In any case, it's not just the play that excels, but the available extras. The moving around in fantastic places and the finding of fun suprises throughout the envirionments... like real video arcade games that actually work! Didn't expect that! I hope that the ForeVR folks continue to add to this type of extra sideline immersive play. I bought all four of the ForeVR games in a bundle deal.. and love them all, (except for possibly darts which it seems, as in real life, I really haven't "yet" got a good handle on... but will be working on it! 🙂 But I got one of my grandsons to also buy this bundle deal so we can play togethor, and what fun we have already had... and look forward to having in the future!

It forces a different view when shooting

Warning to anyone thinking of getting this game. You cannot simply hit balls naturally from any angle. Once you're ready to shoot and hold the trigger it suddenly jumps to a different view. And you're holding the stick by the tip instead of the back. You cannot change this in settings. It's like the devs never even played pool before lol It's a shame because the game looks great. If they just got rid of the trigger holding aspect and let you freely hit balls from any natural position then this would be so much better. You can walk around the table and see the perfect shot, line up your angle, but then you MUST press the trigger to get into "shooting mode" and this is exactly where the game miserably fails and takes you out of the immersion.

Another Home Run!

ForeVR knocked it out of the park again with pool! I love how immersive it is. I havent played pool in forever, and so this was quite fun to beta test. I do miss the hidden ball aspect like bowling had, but the cue sticks you can aquire are fun! Some of the opponents are a little…um…. off the wall in their antics, especially the Texas dude, but it was comic relief. I cant wait to see what game they come up with next. umm…. maybe Air Hockey??? 😉

Has potential

This could be so much better. Firstly the annoying AI characters. Doing a stupid celebration after every single shot is not needed. Even worse is when they are still doing it on your shot and hanging over the edge of the table in your line of sight. The table height needs to be more adjustable to make it feel better. The way your character holds the cue isn't realistic and doesn't make for a realistic cueing action. The actual game physics are good. It has a lot of potential but needs more work. Update in response to the developers response: in regards to your comment about the cueing action and hand position on the cue then I don't agree. If you check out black hole pool they do it perfectly well with no issues. Update: the annoying character celebrations have gone. The table height is more adjustable. The cueing is better however still doesn't feel natural with your cueing hand too close to your bridging hand. Feels more like your poking at the ball.
