On a first date, everyone performs a little. First Date Simulator takes the stage away. No photo. No swipe. No profile to polish. Just someone across from you, asking.

Carly walks in, sits down, turns toward you and holds your gaze. She talks out loud. And she asks the things that would normally take three dates to ask. You don't type and you don't talk: a deck of five cards is strapped to your left hand, and you answer by throwing one. Yes!, Yes, Neutral, No, No way! The card you let fly says more about you than any bio ever could.

• Seated date: a table, two chairs, her across from you. • Walking date: out in the city, with her beside you, half a step ahead, the way you walk when you don't want the conversation to end. • Twelve questions a round, out of 144. Every card you throw adjusts an 8-trait read of you, and the next question comes from whatever she is least sure about. • When the date ends, your affinity with Carly lands on screen. • Press B to walk out of a question or a date whenever you want.
