My Grandfather is 72years old. Recently, my grandmother moved on. I’ve been going over once or twice a week and spending quality time with him. He’s a very sweet, easygoing, old hippie with a big white beard. One day, I had the bright idea to bring over my new Quest 3s to surprise him with cool new video game hardware he’s never seen before. For reference this man was alive when Pac-Man required an entire cabinet of cables. I put on cubism, handed him the headset with no controllers, and told him to have fun! Immediately after I look down to find a slimy, brown substance going down my grandfathers leg. Pants were ruined but memories were made. Coolest game he’s ever played, 5STARS

Beautiful and tasteful

I love this game. I’m 1/3 through the puzzles and it’s already starting to become a challenge. I love the smooth and simple movements, and the simplistic design is very calm and soothing. It’s very well done, and extremely enjoyable and satisfying. More games like this would be refreshing as I’m not into point the and shoot type games that seem to be all the rage. Congratulations devs, you have done a great job. Cheers.

Nearly perfect, missing one thing....

Everything about this game is perfect, besides the lack of easy to acess custom levels or infinitely random levels. This is still honestly my favorite puzzle game of all time. Other than that, definitely get this game. It's both relaxing and frustrating in a good way. Also loving the hand tracking and 120hz!

So satisfying and relaxing

I discovered this game with my free 3-month subscription to meta+ and had never heard about it. My expectations were quite low because I have too often been underwhelmed by VR games. But I love it. The simple but pleasing sleek aesthetic of the game paired with the quiet intermittent music that somehow reminded me of wandering around Hyrule in Zelda BOTW's more desolate moments provide for a general feeling of serene solitude which is becoming all but too rare in today's world of constant overstimulation and stress. It is so nice to be able to slow down the pace, breathe and just savor the moment. The sensory experience of handling the pieces and the box, letting the pieces float around you, catching them and fitting them into the box is extremely satisfying. Feeling the tension build up when you are stumbling on a puzzle and then finding the solution is also quite pleasing. All in all, Cubism is a game that makes you feel good. When I really like a game, I like to check the negative reviews because I want to know what people with another point of view might think. From what I see in the comments, the two main categories of people who publish a negative review of Cubism are contrarians, who can't stand a consensual score of 5 for a game which they were not overly impressed by, and people who are so used to constantly being overstimulated that they get bored or actually get stressed when they experience solitude. I was glad to see how involved Thomas was in addressing their criticisms with tact and dedidication to improving his own game. I do have one gripe though... As the game is part of my meta quest+ subscription, I am unable to buy it so I can have it in my collection and support a dev who clearly deserves it.

A relaxing but challenging puzzle

I have played through about half the Volume 1 puzzles and am really enjoying this game so far. It's just a peaceful little puzzle to solve, low pressure with sitting classical music in the background. Relaxing but the puzzles get pretty tough as the shapes get more complex. It sort of feels like playing in space the way the pieces float around.
