Captain Clark Adventures is a first-person “point-and-click” virtual reality adventure game. You embody Captain Clark, a ship captain in the 1800s, who has been attacked at sea by pirates. The ship’s crew has been decimated. Only the captain has been spared and has been taken prisoner on the pirates’ island. The pirates have gone back out to sea and the captain is now alone in a cage on the beach awaiting the pirates’ return. To survive, he will need to try to escape the island. The adventure takes place on the pirates’ island in the form of an open world. You can explore this tropical island by visiting about fifty places where you will have to scout out the terrain, collect and combine objects, and make progress in order to escape. Captain Clark Adventures provides full stereoscopic environment on complex scenes by mixing 3D pre-rendered graphics and real-time graphics. I think it is a tad expensive. Beat it in maybe 2 hours? Thought there would be more steps, wish I hadn't watched a youtube review as even 1 solve spoiler takes away from a chunk of playtime. Found navigation and visuals perfect. Game dings on interactive objects or it would be impossible. If it was any harder I would likely have never finished it, so they got that right. I will play it again. I would buy another game like this. Hint hint.

I attempted top download this app after purchasing it and I could not. I liked the idea of being able to use offline, and now I can't use it at all. I attempted to get my money back, but that's not even an option. Captain, more like Pirates.

This game doesn't hold your hand at all. There are no hints beyond him talking when you click on things. As others have said, it's a bit frustrating that you can't pick items up until you need them, but also kinda more realistic that way. The trouble is there are lots of times when you just don't know what to do and you wind up just tapping everywhere hoping to find something. Having the cross hair change colour when on top of something interactive would have been nice. Pretty sure this is a series of stereoscopic 360 images and not real-time rendered scenes. It looks a bit strange at first, but once you get used to it it's pretty immersive. This game reminds me of my childhood where I would often get stuck for days not knowing what to do next, but there is a thrill when you discover it. That has largely been lost in modern games where they just give you the answer if they think you're having trouble, or worse, while explaining the puzzle. I think it's worth the price.

Enjoying it so far, but wish the landscape were a little more varied, if only to give you a proper indication of where you are. Also hate that I can't pick up objects until I "need" them. Half the fun of this type of game is picking things up and using them as needed. Reserving judgment until I finish, but not terribly impressed so far.

It's not all bad for a 360 point & click, but the minimal interactions and mediocre scene development fail to keep things interesting. In my opinion it's seriously underdeveloped and not worth anywhere near the asking price...regretted by purchase pretty quickly.
