War Yards is a 1v1 multiplayer shooter that approaches bullet time combat in a whole new way. The game utilizes a unique set of mechanics that allow each player to control the speed of their opponent’s projectiles. Bullet time mode can be activated at any time, but while active it restricts the player to room-scale movement only and removes their ability to reload. These mechanics create an unparalleled combat experience that seamlessly blends fast paced action with tense strategy. War Yards combines these innovative gameplay systems with incredibly detailed stylized maps to make for a truly unforgettable VR western adventure.

Features:

  • Challenge your friends to intense and highly strategic 1v1 duels.
  • Utilize incredibly unique multiplayer bullet time mechanics to outsmart your opponent.
  • Explore 4 highly detailed stylized maps inspired by classic western settings.
  • Enjoy the freedom of playing with users across nearly all VR platforms.

Email registration required

They are on to something good with the core game. With a bit more fleshing out, it would make a fine dueling game. But why require an email registration of the player before one can start playing? For such a small game, it is a bit ridiculous, and surely alienates many new players from even bothering with the title.

simplistic fun.

this game is good, but I have a few tiny gripes. 1. is the hands. they are a little awkward. they always are in the open position until you pick up a gun. there isnt any pointing, fists, or any other gesture. 2. isnt much of the games fault at all, but at the time of writing there just isnt too many players which makes since. this game came out onto app lab very recently... like... hours ago.... but it does take a bit to get into the game. 3. is the ladder on the train stage. its a little buggy and hard to climb. that's it! that's pretty much all my gripes but its free, and fun regardless. no point not to give it a whirl! and ill be playing even more.

New features, better game

By adding single player missions it became much more interesting game. Currently there is too much developers focused on multiplayer but VR doesnt have enough players to populate tham all and honestly, if i would have friends willing to play with me, i woul probably not invest in VR... First mission is almost perfect introducion into VR gaming, narrow yet interesting space with good action and very, very good bots behavior. And thats the right thinking - VR is tempting to make big open spaces but what makes game playable is that enemies are in front of you, not everywhere. In core or graphic, is this game not than original, but that single player is way to go and i hope, that devs will hold course like in first mission - dont make palyers jump around and let them go forward

Am I the only person who plays this game

Bullet time, good music, and fun gameplay. Great game. BUT THERE'S NO ONE TO PLAY WITH And that's not an exaggeration. Every time I've tried the multiplayer mode, throughout the 6 months that I've owned the game, I have never once entered a game with another human player. Just a nonstop barrage of bots. Does no one play the game? Or am I just doing something wrong?

This WILL be great but...

I know it's a beta but a few things. On first play it took about 30 minutes to create account. Kept giving errors but not telling you what the error was. A real pain having to re-enter info many times until it finally took it. If I weren't extremely bored I would have quit the game then but glad I didn't. Having this "create account" as the very first thing the player does may be a turn off for many. Tutorial was cool except I could not move. I had to exit/enter games multiple times until I could finally walk. I get it... beta but frustrating nonetheless. Aiming/Grabbing guns really needs work. My guns on belt were always changing positions. I have to look down at pistol to grab it. Makes it tough when in a fight. My aim is horrible, lol. I really wish there was a range to practice shooting with pistols. The 30/30 is cool but I was never able to hold it correctly or load properly. If I had a place to practice shooting the pistols I may get better at it. Last "gripe" is that it is extremely hard. Even on easy mode I don't last 5 seconds. This due of course to being unable to aim properly or grab the pistol as I should. I am aware this is a work in progress but I wanted to mention these things bc I see myself playing this game non stop when improved. Lastly, LOVE the soundtrack. Can't wait till they add more western type music!! Looking forward to playing the final version.
