Exhilarating Gameplay!!

I really want to give this 5 stars but the game is way too short. First off, it takes a bit to get used to the controls but once you get the feel for it the gameplay loop is so fun, addictive and makes you feel like a bada**!! I am definitely going back to do the challenges and get 3 stars in each level. Hoping the devs continue updating this game. If they add more content (levels, enemy types and weapons) then this is easily a 5 star game. Currently, it took me 2.5 hours to beat the whole game (10 levels) which includes dying a boat load of times. Great job devs, please keep updating the game!!! Edit: Played the two levels from the challenges #1 update. I loved the first level where you only have 1 life and have to survive to the end. The first level was the right amount of challenge and that made it fun and rewarding when you beat it. I liked the first level better than the second gun range level. But using those guns the whole time in the second level was a great time!! Edit: They have added 4 new levels since my original review and continue to add more. I updated my review to 5 stars and look forward to each update!! This game is too addicting and each new level is crafted so well!!!

Slashing/shooting challenge fun

This game is fire. Its got an awesome soundtrack, and its really meant to be replayed. This is more a easy to get into game, but hard to master that is for people who like to see how fast they can run through the leaderboard. Its for sure easy enough this is a cool party game that you can show your friends. Its got totally arcade cabinent type vibes. Its got enough of a campaign to keep people hooked and the level design is crisp and clean. The dodging is a bit different than what you might expect, and the blade angle to block bullets is more narrow, but the ability to fine tune this and learn is also I think leads into the replayability for this game. Definitely check this out if you like music/rhythm action games for the Quest and are looking for something new in this genre.

Pure Arcade Adrenaline!

If you’re looking for a modern VR game with full locomotion and complex combat you’re going to be disappointed. If you want a game that feels like it was ripped out of a 90’s arcade cabinet and tossed into VR with you in it, then you’ve likely found your next purchase. At first I was slightly underwhelmed. The graphics didn’t look quite as slick in the headset as they did in the trailer on the Meta app. I fumbled my way through the first level and still wasn’t blown away, but I was beginning to feel the old arcade magic shining through and flashbacks to arcade hits like Sega’s Virtua Cop started coming. After the second level I was totally hooked. It’s a difficult game, so it’ll take me a while to get through the levels and a very long while before I can flow through them with style like the player in the trailer. There are three medals to earn in each level and when you get one, you really feel you’ve earned it. Every jump to a new location gets the adrenaline pumping as you brace yourself from attacks that can come from anywhere. I even love the graphics now. The environments are extremely well crafted with a good sense of scale and great atmosphere. The game runs as smooth as silk on the Quest 3. The only other game on the Quest with similar vibes is Zombieland Headshot Fever. If you enjoyed that, you should definitely give Tiger Blade a try. I’m so glad there’s another old school arcade style game on the Quest!

Fast paced action

This game is a ton of fun. It’s a “light gun” game for sure, so if you’re not a fan of arcade gun games and you’re looking for a first person shooter, this isn’t for you. What makes Tiger Blade unique is not only do you have a fun, you also have a katana blade and a grappling hook. Just imagine a game like Zombieland or Time Crisis with extra weapons, more interesting locomotion, and faster paced. Yes, the difficulty is high, it requires quick movement and fast reflexes, or at least the patience to become more skilled through practice. So no, it’s not for everyone I guess but I love it. Edit: After playing more, I’m realizing just how much love was put into this game. These guys definitely know Korean culture. Everything from the music to the way the enemies use their swords to attack you shows a superb attention to detail. To the devs: Thank you for responding to my questions and for being so active in general. The new update is great. I have a lot of faith in your team with good reason. Keep the content coming!!!

Is Tiger Blade worth it?

Short answer is yes, hell yes! Tiger Blade does a lot right with it's bopping music, a fun but easy to approach hard to master arcade style action. High replay value and if taken seriously will leave you sweating and still shooting for a better score with the "just one more time" mindset the game provides. High octane action at the flick of the wrist.
