The Amusement is a narrative virtual reality game in which the player takes on the role of Samantha Burkhart. Sent by her mother to inspect an abandoned amusement park inherited from her late father, the 19-year-old woman is overwhelmed by memories of her childhood. To come to terms with her past, Samantha explores the park and solves mysteries in this redirected-walking adventure.
Set in the 1920s, the story of The Amusement addresses the difficulties of the post-war period. You visit the family amusement park at your mother's request for one last time: a winding maze, the ruins of a waterride... and of course, a roller coaster! The park begins to reveal memories from your childhood—moments you'd almost forgotten, secrets your family never spoke about.
The Amusement offers a fully immersive experience based on redirected walking techniques. A standard 2x2 meter playspace is all you need to walk around freely and explore the game's environments without controller-based movements. Players with smaller playspaces also have the option to explore the park with teleportation or Smooth Locomotion.
Exciting puzzles, mysteries, and tasks are waiting to be solved — all by elevating the most engaging and fun interactions that VR has to offer.
