What a find!

So glad I stumbled onto this game. It’s one of the best games I own on quest. I loved No More Rainbows but this outshines it in every respect…. Even the movement feels more precise. Reminds me of Mario 64 with NMR controls Update 2/23/25: it’s an absolute crime this game hasn’t sold better. This is honestly a top 10 quest game, and I own over 700 titles, some free but mostly paid. There’s something seriously wrong with the meta store when a game like this can’t get more exposure. Really hope the devs decide to make a sequel or follow up… wouldn’t blame them in the slightest if they decided it’s not worth it though. But don’t you worry, the meta store will advertise the 827th gorilla tag clone so you can always play that garbage.

A review by a critical thinker

This game is precisely the next step in the evolution of platformers that we need. The immersion and 1:1 movement of your hands and head is the biggest leap in platformers since Mario 64. And Stilt fully utilizes the potential of this evolution. The physics and the feel of the movement feel so good that I wouldn't even know if they could be improved upon. This is 100% quality innovative platforming gameplay, even on just the Quest 2. And what makes it better is the fact that you actually have to learn and get used to the physics, which is what VR desperately needs after years of hand hold-y and mashing gameplay of most VR games, which is still seen even in recent releases. What's not so quality is the presentation. While the graphics are fine, everything feels too shovelwareish. Sadly the visual design doesn't remind me of those old simple nostalgic 3D graphics, but more so just basic forgettable mobile games' style. I can't put my finger on it, but it's missing that something that would make it not feel soulless. On top of that, the design of the main character is atrocious. And since that's what you see on the store page, alongside with the unexciting name "Stilt", many will no doubt not even bother checking out the game at all, which is such a shame. Despite it's visual design, this game is one of the best games on VR, and it's truly a shame that it's so hard for people to discover. A few more great things to mention are the fun powerups, level design Gameplay-wise, and there's even online multiplayer. With more content apparently on the way, this game is absolutely worth the 20 bucks.

a wonderful experience

imagine a game with the graphical aesthetics of mario 64, with the music of crash bandicoot, with the collectibles of banjo-kazooie, and with the bouncing mechanics of the ducktales games or shovel knight. that's this game. if you are a fan of classic platformers and always wanted to be in one, then you owe it to yourself to buy this game!

Great game

Edit, after several month: Still a wonderful game. And one of the only two games I play regularly with my friend and others from over the world. I hope, there will be more players to play with in Multiplayer. First rating: I didn't expect this first, but I like the game very much and Multiplayer is a lot of fun. 😄 I really would appreciate some DLC for multiplayer, more areas like the castle like lobby, maybe larger ones... I'd pay for it.😃

Excellent VR platforming

This game has gone under the radar somehow and I it is a shame because it is excellent. It revisits the genre of gorilla platforming like No More Rainbows did and it has its own innovations that make it shine on its own. The locomotion is more forgiving than your average GT because gravity is forgiving and the stilts give you a lot of force to jump far if you wish. The tools you attach add new dimensions to the locomotion: the propeller, the swinging rope, the booster (if that's the name). I enjoy exploring the map trying to get to places I'm not supposed to visit and it is great fun. The game also offers different levels of difficulty without you knowing: you can "easily" complete the levels but if you get a bit OCD and want to speed-run them or get to the hidden loot you have to work hard. I'm some 12 h or so into the game and I'm on level 12 so you can tell how much replayability the levels provide if you enjoy playing. Finally, if you like the VR experiences that can be a bit of a workout without you noticing, this is one of them. I play it wearing wrist weights and get quite tired after 30 minutes of playing.
