Beardo Benjo: “Starship Troopers Continuum is a chunky, punchy feeling arcade shooter that works best when played with friends... it’s also pretty hilarious! You can tell this is the team behind the excellent Zombieland Headshot Fever.”

Rhys Da King: “A game that’s not only packed with intense VR combat but also offers that classic Starship Troopers action fans love. The combat feels good, and those boss battles against giant alien bugs are an absolute blast.”

GAMERTAG VR: “Player progression AKA PsyCommander levelling, compelling and the Trooper unlocks attached to the rogue-like element of the game fun and pretty engaging.”

Your going to die.

All the negative comments about losing everything when you die. Yeah the character dies but you are still at that level. I mean, cmon people died rather quickly in the movie. And it adds to your thoughts. Run on in or run away and fight your way back in. Either way, I'm doing my part are you?.

Fun Roguelike/lite game!

Hopped on this evening and played with some folks. Contrary to what some people say about the graphics, they have done a great job optimizing for the quest platform and creating art direction that lends itself well to the Quest. The gameplay/flow is good. Love the perk system and weapon upgrades. There are some nice layers there. This is a great multiplayer game and you can't go wrong for 25 bucks! Credentials: Veteran XR developer.

Finally doing my part!

This is the experience we only dreamt about in 1997! I've played through the first mission and gameplay was smooth, controls very responsive, and the graphics are awesome. Its obvious that the developers are fans of the film. Thanks for adding in the target range so players can get used to using the various weapons and thanks for solo mode! Game difficulty is moderate, its not so hard that you want to give up but not so easy that you just fly through the mission without at least one expletive. For me, the comfort level vastly improves by either standing or sitting on a swivel chair, trying to turn with the thumb sticks is smooth, but for me causes some motion discomfort. I experienced no lag in gameplay at all. I only experienced one repeatable ..bug.. and that was with the sound for the Defender rifle specifically. When there are a lot of sprites in close motion the sound of the rifle firing can get stuck on (even if you're not firing). This only happens with the Defender, is repeatable, and seems to go away once the number of Arachnids goes down. Nothing a patch cant fix I am sure. Small issue for release day! Played on Metaquest 3 512G over dedicated WiFi 6 connection.

Big step towards my dream VR experience!

Since the original Quest, my dream experience was to play the Whiskey Outpost ambush in fully immersed VR whilst Basil Poledouris' score booms throughout. So i was insanely happy to see a Starship Troopers VR game had not only been announced, but was already released (I google search Starship Troopers VR every 6 months or so). Dusted off, charged up, and downloaded updates on my Quest 2, and downloaded the game the next day. Based on the gameplay trailer, i wasn't too thrilled with what i saw, but once i was ported into the game, it felt a lot better than expected. Having Casper Van Dien returning to voice Rico is a great addition to making this feel like a true Starship Troopers game. I've only played solo so far, but it's been quite fun and very challenging. Shooting arachnids with a Morita rifle is such a satisfying feeling. Most of the controls have been pretty good so far. The player leveling is interesting and not quite my thing. Things i would love to see from this game or sequels (some are just not physically possible yet with where VR is currently at): -Single Player Leveling System -Better Graphics -Bigger Waves of Arachnids/Bugs -AI Squadmates -Licensed Music -More Original Voice Actors: Michael Ironside, Clancy Brown, etc. -bHaptics Compatibility (the vests look similar to MI vests already!) -Missions From the Movie (Whiskey Outpost!) -Weapon Customizing (Underbarrell shotgun on the Morita?!) Overall, it's a fun arcade shooter, that gives you that satisfying taste of taking out Bugs you'd expect from a Starship Troopers experience. Would definitely recommend to all fans of Paul Verhoven's (now classic?) masterpiece. Hopefully the developers can find success with it and continue to upgrade and put out more Starship Troopers games in the future, and complete my dream i never thought would even come this close to coming true.
