Transform your Quest in a 3D camera

I used to fiddle with settings to film in 3D but the result was a weird square 3D-video. But this app does the job a lot better, creates a video in a normal videoresolution in nice 3D. If you ever wanted to make 3D videos but don't have the budget to buy those expensive 3D camera's (or just want to make a few gadgetvideos for fun) this is a steal. The only downpart is that when you move your head, the camera moves with it. If you don't want people to become seasick, hold your head still when you film. And choose scenes where the 3D adds to the video, for instance people skateboarding and coming straight at you, or cars passing by, any spectacular action where things happen around you. I love it, this proves that the Quest can do a lot more than just games, it's a wonderfull tool and this app uses it's potential to the max.

When I first entered this world of Immersive Entertainment, I got a hunger to become a creator. I started doing web searches on finding some inexpensive equipment to create this new type of content. The Search is Over. It only cost me $9.99 US Currency. My Meta Quest is not only an immersive gaming system. My Meta Quest is not only an immersive Entertainment System. My Meta Quest is now a 3D Camera and more importantly, a 3D Video Camera. Quality, Smality-We are talking about unlocking a feature that only costs 10 bucks, and also allows you to be 3D Content creator. To the Develops of the app, I extend a thank you. Dear Mark Zuckerberger... Thank you for taking this technology and spending the time to better develop it. To the readings of this post.... Spend your money, and thank me later.

Amazing

Despite the low quality of the Quest 3 cameras, this is the absolute best 3D effect I've ever seen. You do need good lighting though. You can adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation in the app, but the more you artificially brighten the scene the grainier it gets. The videos can also be trimmed for length. The really unfortunate thing with the Quest 3 is that it does Not capture any sound in the room! That is great for talking to a friend in a multilayer game, but horrible when you want an immersive video that captures the full feel of the world around you. Short of recording audio on my phone and then finding a way to merge those files, I'm not sure if that's a fixable issue. I've never tried to edit a 3D video file, but I'll have to give it a shot. I saw a post where someone wanted to interview their relatives while they were still around, but again you'd have to capture the audio separately, so that messes up that process. I was able to push record on the video, take my headset off and then record myself for 1:02 before it stopped recording. Usually the headset instantly stops the system camera if you remove the headset, so that was interesting. Unfortunately since it didn't record any sound there is no real point to the selfie video unless you just want to act silly for a minute. As for the app, it works within the obvious limitations of your headset. So don't expect an amazing high level of quality if your headset is not capable of that. Do expect the 3D effect to surpass much of what you've ever seen before. I genuinely feel the photos I've captured in the first few minutes outshine the previous 45 years of 3D capture attempts that I've seen. Their is a depth monitor that is supposed to ensure you get the best depth, however, it is really far away from things, so I'm ignoring it more often than not and getting great results. My best looking images are one where you have a good diversity of depth. I took a photo outside of my plantain and banana trees. Right in the foreground by my head was a huge set of leaves and then the trees go on for about 12 feet. The depth in that was phenomenal! The one photo and video subject that got a slight bit weird was a framed clay art piece that my grandfather sculptured. It hangs on a white wall it appears that the framed piece is floating off the wall in the final image. The video kept it together a bit better. I expect it would work better with a more diverse background or maybe better lighting. That single photo was the only one that seemed to mix up the depth. All around I'm really impressed and the app is currently on sale, so give it a shot.

Amazing app Thank you!

I had been looking at VR cameras for quite some time. They are expensive, but I very much want to interview my older relatives in a 3-D format while I still can. When this app came along, it was a no-brainer solution. It’s easy to use, uploads the videos easily, and is very reasonably priced. Thank you to the developers!

3D Photos and Videos for VR Users

I absolutely LOVE this app. I like the idea that apps like this allows people to use their Quest headsets as tools to CREATE 3D content, as opposed to just using the headset to experience 3D content. It’s also fantastic for Quest users who want to do some 3D photography and 3D videography but don’t have the extra cash to buy a 3D camera. I highly recommend it!
