Immersive, engrossing, addictive

I'm an older gamer more a puzzler than a shooter but would not pull a star for personal preference. If you like Myst, the Red Matter series, and the Room, you should like this. Great graphics and a lot of content and puzzles of the right complexity (I played normal mode). Got stuck a few times, as I should if the puzzles are well-constructed. Since the line between challenging and frustrating can be fine, recommend remembering the hint button (which was well done) and which I used sparingly but was much appreciated. Also, the option of bypassing some of the more difficult shooting scenarios was also appreciated, as the ability to save progress was not always conveniently provided. I made sure I'd mastered the shooters, first, but as mentioned I'm more into puzzles. The option to customize is also a welcome addition: The raven's sarcasm for me was annoying. I learned of the cartoon option for the spiders in these reviews, but I'm not arachnophobic and this would have taken me out of the story. Overall, a well done work of gaming art and heartily recommended. Looking forward to the upcoming sequel.

My favorite VR Game

I've been fascinated by the Macventure series since I rented he NES Shadowgate from a Mom and Pop video store that existed before Blockbuster came to town. I love all three Nes games, I enjoyed the 2014 remake. Needless to say, the idea of being IN the dungeon was just too enticing. I bought it as soon as I heard about it. Just beat it today, on Christmas and...just wow. What an experience. The creatures never stopped creeping me out. My family enjoyed hearing my cowardly screams from the game room when a spider would pop out. I loved the atmosphere, the puzzles, Odin, the stealth portion, even the minecart rides were super fun even though I normally don't handle motion type rides in VR very well. Seriously can't wait for book 2.

Fantastic Game

This game is amazing, the combat could be improved, but nonetheless, it’s a vr title that I genuinely get stoked on playing each night. I’ve sunk in a handful of hours and the puzzles are fantastic and exploring each new area is super exciting. Would definitely recommend

Sitting option is a JOKE!

I am disabled so I have to use the sitting option, but this game makes it impossible to reach the chests on the floor unless you adjust your height to be about 12 inches tall, in the settings. This game is one of the reasons I bought the Quest and feel on the verge of tears right now. Even in the virtual world, I'm too disabled to do anything. Thanks. Also, I am Non-Binary and resent the fact I have to pick Male or Female at the beginning, especially during the month of Pride. Update: I have been able to pick things off the ground, but it takes awhile to get the item to select, it doesn't work as well as you think. I also had to adjust my height manually so I could pick up coins, because I couldn't get them to highlight. The spike bridge in the game took me 30 minutes to pass, with ALL accessibily optoins on. I figured out the puzzle immeaditely, but having to switch between the two inventories is really badly designed. My wand and shield which are used often are on my belt where I can barely reach them. And the inventory items that you can only use once are in an easily selectable place in front me. Why not give the option to have all your inventory in one place. How was that overlooked? So switching between ruins and my sheild became impossible to do fast enough to not get one shotted by the enemies. I can play Dark Souls games, but on easy with all accessibily option your game is insanely frustrating. The puzzles aren't good either. The spider puzzle with the pipes, I solved in my head in 10 seconds but it took me FOREVER to have to wait for the spiders to move to where I could hit them. Shadowgate on NES was one of my favorite games. This doesn't even come close. Even if everything worked properly this is a sad pale clone to any other shadowgate game. Do you like exploring boring repetative dungeons that use only 3 textures, than this is the game for you. Also, I'm not emailing your company. I'm not gonna be an unpaid tester for you.
