Engaging and entertaining

While this game is still in Early Access, it’s quickly become one of my top 5 games in VR, and I own quite a few big titles. How’s this game compete with all the big names? Well, I’d say it’s because it’s got a little something for everyone. You can serve on the crew of your very own interstellar battleship, running around belowdecks making repairs or manning the helm operating the turrets. Additionally, if it’s more your speed, you can launch your own Interceptor fighter ship and have yourself a dogfight in space. Even that would make for an interesting game, but there’s also a variety of planets to explore during ground missions. You get to take a Drop Pod to the planet’s surface with your choice of weapons and fight back on foot the way you want. I began playing in late May and got my money’s worth out of it quite quickly. I was astonished to learn that there’s only one dev, extremely dedicated, who updates the game very frequently and is extremely receptive to feedback. This is absolutely a game worth giving a go.

Yar!

Me and my team were forced to retreat from a space battle. We warped to what we were hoping would be a safe destination only to be ambushed mid warp by Pirates! After another fierce space battle we manged to limp our wrecked hull to a space station for repairs. We then played pool and listened to some decent tunes. For 10 dollars there is so much content. You can't go wrong with this game

In Only Two Hours.

In only two hours, I learned how to fly a ship, fire the main guns and maintain a battle cruiser, board an enemy spaceport and blow it up like the Death Star, not to mention full-on star war-like battles, and met two of the nicest gentlemen who helped teach me. Had recommendations on how not to waste my credits and make it the best two-hour. And I can't wait to play again tomorrow!

!!!Hidden Gem - Check this out!!!

!Excellent Game! This is a first person shooter where you can actually experience the “war” from the perspective of your own customizable character! There are a variety of mission types including ground missions against alien robots, flying aircraft in dramatic dog fighting missions, star-wars type flying missions, flying battle ships through obstacles to knock out the enemy, even the battleship has action with turrets and so much more! One of the really cool things is that team week is essential, and players share the rewards! That means in a six player game, foot example, for players may go out to dog fight in planes, another may choose to use the turrets in the battleship while still another guards and repairs the ship, both the players onboard would defend the ship against enemy intrusion too! It’s crazy, intense and exhilarating fun

Essential game for sci-fi fans

I don't review games often, but since picking up IST I have been burning out my battery daily playing it. The gameplay is fantastic - space dogfights, ground assaults, base defence, trench runs, boarding enemy ships, all the stuff I love from games like the X-Wing series, Wing Commander, original Battlefront (showing my age). The design just feels like a love letter to the sci fi greats, particularly Battlestar Galactica. It looks and plays fantastic even on my old Quest 2. The community is great, and unlike a lot of Quest games I play they generally seem to be adults. For a single dev and an early access game this is a remarkable achievement and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
