I dont write alot of reviews

I dont write alot but there are some games that are definetly worth it. Weather they may be crap and people need to know or just freaking AWESOME!!!!!! LIKE THIS GAME!!! I have about 2 hours in and seen like 15 different bad guys and that's just barely scratching the surface of what the game is. You do definetly and I mean it ( need the room scale) to play it or ya may be crashing n falling into stuff. It's a bit of a workout but not over tiring at all. I'm old n not in the best shape n I can play a couple hours straight. But devs I love the style, creativity, the looks and the game. This is a must have!!!!!

Even better than I anticipated!

I had been eyeballing this title for awhile now, letting reviews roll in and I was pretty certain I'd like it. I had no idea that I would LOVE it! So much more here than meets the eye initially. Let's start with this....it would seem you can play this darn near infinitely. Let's go over the content; There are 3 classes, multiple modes of difficulty, a randomized tower, levels upon level of what seems to be a large variety of enemies, boss battles that WILL challenge you and free roamish map to explore. In that world you'll have a dog you can summon. A puppy. That's right, Barkaxler. A hoverboard you can ride and jump and a variety of equippable weapons and spells, including pistols, which made me very happy. So you'll stay busy for A LONG WHILE. Replayability....check. Graphics are more than they appear at first as well. Tired of playing tabletop/3rd person....switch it to first person and crawl the dungeon through his eyes (you battle in first person anyways but you can choose to traverse that way as well). Like the third person....lean forward....use your hands....really get in there. Just pause once in awhile to really admire it. Options galore in just how you play alone. Snap and smooth turn are available with comfort settings for the motion sick prone. So graphics and UI are a check. Most importantly it's fun! With strategy and quick dodging and varied enemy attacks with new surprises as the floors climb....it's every dungeon crawlers paradise. The voices and story are simple but charming and lend to it's charm. The world seems small at first but you quickly find it's not and has plenty to explore and good room to expand on (hint hint devs!). I see myself playing this game for a long time and hope to see the dedicated following this game deserves land us an expansion or two lol. Bravo! Oculus underground title of the year in this gamers opinion. Thank you for the value and for an actual FULL title with ample content in a world of half finished VR games....you are rare Arcaxer.

Good game, but not for playing seated

The game is great fun, especially exploring the randomized dungeons, but being a disabled gamer, playing seated is tough. This is because dodging attacks during turn-based fights requires a lot of head movement, and if you have to play seated, you're not going to be able to move enough to dodge.

The people complaining about how easy it is A. Are playing on lower difficulties and B. Not giving enough time to get past the lower levels.. of course it's gonna start off easier in the beginning. It's a video game! Overall the game is extremely fun. There are a variety of gameplay styles based on the class you choose. The combat is fluid and rewards you for wiping out all enemies on the first turn of combat (1.5x exp), making each battle essentially a puzzle to solve. There are side quests and secrets galore. The story is interesting and keeps you wondering "what it all means". The game has a couple bugs, most of them not heavily impactful and a little funny. And despite there not being any live updates for a few months (team has shifted focus on completing Arcaxer 2), the devs are still active and very helpful on their discord server! If you enjoy gameplay that rewards you for a mixture of skill and getting big numbers, and want to drown in oodles of meme references and a morality pondering SAO-like story, handcrafted by a team of people who clearly love what they do, Arcaxer is for you!

This is a special game…

Type this in your browser for discount: tiny.cc/arc25 This game is something special… it feels like being INSIDE the original Final Fantasy 7… and this game proves that JRPGs could be incredible in VR. The way the turn based combat works so brilliantly all but guarantees that we will have more games copying it in the future. I always wished there was an actual game that gave me a legit workout while playing it. Games like beat saber are cool but I’ve wanted an actual game where I can manage an inventory and level up a character and make him stronger. ARCAXER finally gave me that!
