Rough around the edges with potential.

The VR arcade emulation community has been around for years now but this is the first "official" Meta app I've seen. There are other more mature offerings out there like Age Of Joy with detailed environments, and hundreds of beautiful and accurate looking cabinets. This app has a long way to go to achieve something comparible. However, here are some things Arcade Ranger has going for it. 1. Integration with the X-Arcade2TVVX. 2. Compabilitity with multiple emulators. 3. Trackball support. 4. Multi-player environments. Here are things I'd like to see as this app evolves... 1. Ability to support imported 3d cabinet meshes and better texture mapping capabilities to more accurately reflect the cabinets. Right now the cabinets and screens look very 'flat' which distracts from the immersion. 2. Ability to add "rooms" and more cabinets without bogging down the CPU. 3. Better lighting/glow effects, and reflections. Overall, great start AR team! Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Difficult but worth it

OK first message is to the user a bit of patience and you will realise this a totally worth it purchase and message to developer your average user isn't going to go on discord to figure out how to upload roms it needs to be a lot easier with a more detailed guide

Excellent

This app is awesome. Yes it takes some work getting roms to work but thats MAME itself not this app. Once you figure out MAME this app is great 👍 My suggestion to those having issues is to install MAME on PC and get whatever game your trying to run to work on PC MAME first as if it won't work there it won't work here either. Once you understand how MAME works and that many Roms require other files to run its actually not difficult and you can have tons of old-school arcade games installed in no time

Relive the Golden Age of Arcades!

This game really brings back memories of hanging out at the arcade as a kid. The ability to customize your own arcade space in VR is such a cool feature—it’s like building your own little retro paradise! The MR mode is a nice touch too, blending reality with the game for an extra layer of immersion. The devs mentioned they’re planning to add a Campaign Mode and more features in future updates, which sounds awesome. I did recommend this game for all people it's just a good game and fun to play 🎮

Doesn't work

After installing the Arcade Ranger app, I spent a few hours online trying to find ways to get it to work. I've managed to download a MAME rom, I put it into the appropriate folder (actrually tried all of them) using the specific instructions from X-Arcade. I can go up (virtually) to a machine within the game, pull up the menu to select the specific ROM zip file, and select CONFIRM, then select PLAY; and then nothing happens...Just staring at a blank black screen with nothing functioning. No movements within the game or any other function works until a quit the game. There are tons of "tutorial-ish" sites/forums out there. I tried a bunch and none of it works. I'm suspecting that there might be some MAME core that needs to be installed using Sidequest VR, the using Retro Arch to load the emulator so the zip ROM can be accessed. Sounds like something you can do easily? Yeah, very straightforward. Takes minutes....NOT!
