It was working just fine yesterday, then today when I tried to use it, nothing, the interface loads but no content, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but nothing... Is it down or something

Back in January, I was invited to join a new immersive video platform called RIVAL, which has recently launched on the Meta Quest app store. (Apple Vision Pro and Pico apps are in the works) I have been regularly uploading VR and 3D content to DeoVR, YouTube VR, and the Meta TV app platforms, all of which have their pros and cons, and was interested to see what a new video platform could bring to the table. The first thing that immediately stood out as I started browsing the platforms is that the vast majority of videos on RIVAL are VR animations and VR/3D gameplay videos. As a full-time animator who has been creating VR180 animations in my free time, it was a nice surprise to see other VR animations. (the few animations I see on DeoVR are mainly the creepy dancing anime girl videos) While there are some live-action VR videos on Rival , it is definitely lacking. This may be possibly because Rival is reaching out to animators/VR gamers to join their platform. While I don't want RIVAL to be flooded with VR travel videos, I'm hoping people who create high-quality VR180 content shares their work on the platform. Rival supports 360, VR180, and 3D/Spatial videos. No 2D videos. In fact, if you upload a 2D video to the platform, Rival currently converts it (with the power of AI) to a Spatial 3D video. They have even reached out to a few artists/animators and offered to convert their animations into VR180 animations. I'm not sure how long they plan to do this and/or if they plan on eventually charging for this conversion service. As of this writing, Rival is completely free to use and there are no "premium" videos hidden by a paywall. From my discussions with the RIVAL team, they do no seem interested in having a paid tier of videos. As for content creators who want to make money on this platform, RIVAL said they plan on allowing audience gifting/donations, brand sponsorships, video competitions/contests, and some sort of subscription.

I saw this just got released today so I downloaded it not expecting much. This is a very, very nice app/platform with a ton of interesting content presented in a really compelling manner. Basically what the app offers is streaming video content in a variety of formats including 180/360 and (most impressively) Spatial video. I have no idea where they sourced the videos, but there is quite a lot on offer. I tried a number of videos, but the most impressive (so far) was a stunning 8+ minute spatial video rendered in stunning high resolution of bugs, fruits, and other stuff. It played in MR and was like an immersive 3D window in my living room. I doubted streaming this high-resolution video would work well, but the quality is exceptional. You can favorite the videos and view individual creator profiles/library. I have no idea how the devs will monetize this--since it's FREE you absolutely need to check it out. It's a REALLY good app; my experience was so positive that I made time to write this review immediately after checking it out. It really is *that* impressive!

At first, I was skeptical about the whole “reels/TikTok for VR” thing, I tried the app just to prove myself right. But honestly? The 3D gameplay is INSANE. Scrolling thru 3D gameplay like HL Alyx, Batman, Beat Saber, and Gorilla Tag all within your headset is just insane loll I was kinda blown away and apparently they can convert your gameplay into 3D for free, I tried & it worked

So cool to see gameplay transformed into 3D VR experiences! It's like I'm right in the action without the stress of actually playing intense and tough games - watching Walking Dead/Phasmophobia playthroughs and walkthroughs in full VR just hits different The vids are high quality and lag-free, with content spanning Blade & Sorcery, Bonelab, Gtag, Animal Company, and Beat Saber. More and more creators are sharing their funniest, craziest gameplay moments every day, so there’s always something fresh to watch I can defo see gamers using this app to learn and build their own in-game skills too, like learning how to lucio run in Gtag etc or figuring out how to get unstuck in a puzzle game without having to take off the headset
