Decent but feels like a short demo

Bought the game last night and finished it this morning so here's my thoughts. Voice acting seems to be somewhat text to speech or disjointed, this breaks the immersion. The story is very loose and the gameplay is not particularly exciting in the sense that you feel like you're just trying to get it done, walking almost aimlessly around. It feels like playing a short demo rather than a full game as has a little inventory gathering, a little horror, action and puzzle solving but not really enough of any of them . The zombie movements are good and walking through rooms of mutilated bodies gives the game atmosphere too but it feels like this game could have been so much better and has a lot of potential. There isn't enough variance in the game, it's kind of walk, open a draw and maybe shoot a zombie so to me feels like it's lacking in the horror elements and the action, almost like it's done a bit of both but not enough of either. Shame really as was crossing my fingers for another horror game on the quest 2.

This game is unfinished.

This is a fantastic experience. The atmosphere of this game is stellar. As I was crawling through the hallways, I'm listening to the sounds and I'm hyper aware of my surroundings, wondering when the next enemy is going to jump at me, or if I can keep my aim steady enough in the poor lighting to light up my shots. The sounds echoing off the halls enhance this game to extremes, and the short term interactions you get with the living is actually well written and enjoyable. Finding the side documents to help pull the world together was greatly rewarding to help build the world setting, and made me feel immerse in what I was trying to survive. The combat was fantastic, and each zombie kill felt rewarding and earned. So why the 1 star? The game is a freaking demo. And you charged me for it. There is nowhere in this game that says it's Chapter 1, or a Demo, or a Prologue, or that it's only part of a game. The whole point of this game is to get to the top floors and in order to do that, you need to get the elevators working. I finally did, and after you kill the (unknowingly final) boss , he does something that makes you wonder what he just did. As you crawl up to the elevators to go up, he hear something really nasty moving around behind the walls, bringing me to wonder just what is going to come at me. Clearly the game was expecting me to see something, since I had over 100 shotgun rounds, and close to 100 handgun rounds. I was ready for war, so I entered the elevator. And then you get an abrupt ending that leaves more questions then answers. I'm extremely disappointed by this, as I feel like I was massively mislead. This was building up to be one of my favorite VR games of all time, and then you pull that? At least be honest and put "Part 1" or "Chapter 1" in your game title. This single handedly made me not to want to buy another game from this company.

Ummm WHAT???

Let me start by saying, there aren’t many scary/ horror games on Oculus that I find immersive. I always end up refunding them. But if you want genuine, heart racing terror… THIS is your game. The atmosphere itself is just chilling, I’d probably still be terrified if there weren’t monsters hunting me down!😂 I’m not new to horror games or gaming in general either, I’m 22 and love QUALITY games, and this? this is freaking quality dude. I was only able to play for an hour before putting it down because it is genuinely scary. This is the kind of game that you can only play in short bursts of bravery😅 There’s a sprint mechanic but I’m too scared to use it, the monsters might hear me😭 I also wanted to see if a wine glass was breakable if I threw it, but the game has me so on edge that I just set it back down quietly, so if you’re brave enough, let me know if it’s breakable😅 Don’t skip over this one, it’s hard to find games worth your time on this store, and I’m telling you, this one is worth your time. BUY IT!! The graphics are really good too, so if realism is your thing, you’ll love the way this looks. You’ll be hooked instantly, it’s a phenomenal game so far.

Best (VR) Horror Game I've Ever Played.

I'll do a bullet point list right off the bat and then we'll get into it.. • I have the Quest 2 and the graphics are more polished than Walking Dead & RE4 (VR) • It's QUIET AF - the atmosphere & sound in the hotel is impeccable - WEAR HEADPHONES • The monster AI is terrifying, sporadic, well-designed and FAST. • The details to the story, the goals, the objective, it's solid & immersive. Okay, I hope you're ready for a bit of a story. I grew up on Resident Evil for Playstation One. In my honest opinion, Resident Evil 2 (The original & the remake) is the best horror game ever made, besides the first Silent Hill. I've played RE7, RE4 and Walking Dead S+S, all in VR. Paradise Hotel is different. It's a fresh concept, all while maintaining what I believe is the best backdrop for a horror game, 'the haunted house'. There is music in the game, but for the most part, it's quiet, and WITH HEADPHONES on, haha (wear headphones) you'll really fall into it. I'm only like maybe 45 minutes in, I've hit one boss (he was TERRIFYING) I was actually scared, (I'm 40) and the surprises in the vents and the closets... just buy the game for $25.00. Play at night. Turn off your lights, draw the biggest boundary you can.. and wear headphones. For the developers, please tell me that you guys are working on something new (and longer). More weapons? (unless I haven't hit them yet) You're on really good path with this. Also, maybe a bit more interaction with random items as well? But hey you guys really hit a home run with this one. Resident Evil One homage. Seriously. Thank you for Propagation: Paradise Hotel.

No functional autosave

Ok, first up, it's a pretty good game...the graphics are adequate, certainly very good for the price, and the tension and atmosphere are primo! The only thing that lets it down is that there does not appear to be a useable autosave...yes, you can save progress at occasional guestbook checkpoints, but this is not convenient, especially if you are snatching a few minutes of game time here and there and find you then need to redo a whole lot of progress which makes it extremely frustrating. Seriously devs, this should be a no-brainer...just write the autosave file on exit, even if only on an elegant exit.
