PianoVision V3

December 24, 2025

Today we're launching V3, our biggest update yet. We really hope you enjoy! We had a lot of fun working on this wide range of features. For the UI, I tried to take special care to feedback throughout the year to make it more friendly and intuitive. Magic Calibration was a real doozy of a couple…

Holiday Song Pack Update!

December 15, 2023

Season's greetings! Every holiday season is magical, but this one is unique. Just imagine - mom chopping vegetables in the kitchen, uncle Larry turns up the volume on the family TV, grandpa Joe arguing with that one cousin who just won’t shut up about AI--and then there’s a brand new sound. It’s…

Don’t ignore the bad reviews

Putting out trailers for a new update with a lot of new features and then revealing they are all behind a subscription service was not consumer friendly. I paid full price for the full app quite a while back and now it is a ‘basic’ version, with pop ups and parts of the UI which are locked. Bad business practice.

Poor Sellling...

Just like others here, I purchased the app when there was no subscription, when reviewers online raved about it's features. I didn't think it was as good as promoted to be. Now, after taking everyone's money, the developers now want a subscription. They should look at the success story of Walk About Golf and Real Fishing here on Meta Quest. Additional packs can be purchased, money keeps rolling in, they keep improving the games and everyone is happy - even the people who don't want further upgrades. Because there is no subscription, I am happy to get the upgrades. If you want a subscription app, release as a new V2.0 app, download could be free and subscription shown upfront from the start. It's not fair to just add later.

DON'T BUY

Buy game for $10, asks for a subscription for $10, come to find out nothing works properly within 5 minutes. Can't return or refund game or subscription. Now I'm out $20 for a game I can't use (which isn't a big deal, it's the principle that matters)... Just don't buy it... Great concept, HORRIBLE execution

Latest update made me quit subscription.

I just played the latest Pianovision update, and I'm really frustrated with how much the frame rate has dropped. The keyboard position keeps shifting, and the calibration UI flow is completely broken. I also don’t like the new connected notes feature and turned it off right away. The lyrics feature is fun but when the position is lost between songs and the UI is z-fighting the whole thing feels broken. Everyone makes mistakes when pushing updates, but maybe don't put out untested updates over the holidays. Was planning to play piano with family over holidays, instead cancelled subscription.

Why do you not want money?

Imagine this app without a subscription and a reasonable price with an occasional sale. More people buy the app, consistent updates, everyone’s happy and rating goes up. App gains popularity, more people buy, app becomes a hit and generates lots of revenue. But no lets do subscription because that’s clearly bringing in more customers 🙃
