Per Aspera VR is a unique and challenging strategy game that will test players' ability to manage resources and plan for the future. THIS GAME IS HARD TO PLAY AND HARD TO MASTER. The game takes place on Mars and players must terraform the planet to make it habitable for humans. The gameplay mechanics are well designed, with a variety of resources to manage and choices to make. The graphics are impressive, with a beautiful and detailed depiction of the Martian landscape. The sound effects and music are also excellent and add to the overall atmosphere of the game. The game's story is intriguing, with a science fiction twist that will keep players engaged. The only downside I saw with the game is the learning curve. It takes a bit of time and patience to figure it all out, but once you do it is so rewarding! Unique game for simulation gamers

Unique and well-implemented game. It's about terraforming Mars. The level of detail is enormous, the complexity is high and yet everything remains understandable and influencable. You have to plan and think ahead and the game somehow plays like a blueprint for the colonization of Mars in "real life" - meaning a high degree of realism. I find it brilliantly implemented. The graphics are good, everything is fluid and just zooming in and out of Mars is a blast. To be able to evaluate such a game, you has to play it for at least 3-4 hours. Anyone who claims to give a rating with 30 minutes of "first impression" should not be taken seriously. At that point, you might have scratched the surface but experienced, seen or understood nothing. Of course, the game is not for everyone: you have to love simulation games, building games and resource management, otherwise you will not be happy with this game either. And the high complexity and high degree of realism must also be fun, otherwise you will soon be out.

An excellent strategy game

It’s not often a game captures my attention enough for me to see it through to completion, but this game did. It would be nice to see more in depth combat and factory mechanics. The ending was a bit anticlimactic once my colony was fully set up there wasn’t anything to do but wait for it to finish and I expected something to happen once I’d unlocked the whole planet. However, watching Mars slowly transform while you play is awesome and I got a ton of enjoyment out of the game leading up to the finale. Highly recommend. Hopefully we get a sequel in the future.

Fantastic even for non civ fans

I did not expect to enjoy this game so much, but here I am, itching to play more. I have only skimmed the surface and already I am hooked. I never really played these long format civilization style games, but the premise got me into it and gameplay never let go. It just feels amazing zooming around the planet, building this and that, checking how your transport is doing, should I build this.. do I need more of this or that? The game is paced great where just as you get a handle of things and it starts getting easy, they throw something new at you. Not just catastrophes to deal with, believable story and fantastic voice acting. Treat yourself to this gem. I doubt I will get to play anything else for the rest of the month.

I've never played this genre of game before, to be honest I've never even considered it. But, there was something about the notion of terraforming Mars that piqued my interest so I took the chance. I'm so glad I did!! I'm now at stage 4 of the process and I'd say that the game has the perfect blend of letting you get on with it and interrupting you with all sorts of drama and problems. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the game ending... maybe we'll get to terraform another planet in the next game by these devs??!... here's hoping.
