Good but could be better!

This is great fun, and if you’re looking for apps that give you a medium cardio workout, this should definitely be part of your collection. Three suggestions: 1. Can we please have a female-shaped shadow figure for aligning your body with the holes, or at least a more gender-neutral one? I find the exaggerated neck and shoulder musculature of the overtly male shadow figure, with whom I bear little resemblance, quite irritating 2. A non-stop mode - or levels with a longer duration - would be great. Too much opportunity to catch one’s breath right now! 3. Better music. Compared with Beat Sabre, the music in this app is well below par.

excellent music game

I play different music games on my Quest 2 and before purchasing OhShape I read some mixed reviews, so I think it's important to write what I think. Game is excellent, it's unique because it makes you physically move, you can't just stand in place and swing your arms, you must move your legs left and right. There are many negative opinions about tracking and developers are writting about calibration and stuff. I think that's not the main issue. This game requires practice. You need to learn how to make the shape. Don't try to match the shadow, it is not that. Some people write they match the shadow and sometimes it's still wrong. I can make almost 100% correct on medium difficulty. The trick is to learn the shape, remember where to put hands. For example there is a shape with hands on chest, if it doesn't work next time try to put hand lower or higher. After few times you will learn where exactly they should be. And then just put them on that place each time and you have 100% correct. OhShape is important part of my collection, great music game, great workout, highly recommended.

Can be frustrating

I got this game because I was looking for games that make you move so I have to give it credit that it does make you move. However, if you are competitive like me, it's frustrating when you get a low score and you don't know why. You do get a vibration when you miss the shape but I AM doing the shape. I can see my shadow in the shape but I still get an error vibration. Also, I can't seem to figure out why I am missing the coins. I'm reaching for them but still missing them so my grade at the end is a C or D. Also, I can't seem to access the challenges. When I click it, I just get a spinning circle.

Good warm-up, could be better

First off, the official video is terrible. The game looks incredibly lame and if it weren't for this being paired with SR in a sale, I never would have given it a second look. But I did, by viewing YouTube videos, and the gameplay there convinced me to give it a chance. This is an interesting game. I use Audio Trip as my fitness work out. It's a killer. But I like to use Ohshapes for a warm-up or a cooldown. It's a different sort of movement so it provides variety. I'm not particularly thrilled by the music selection, but I've downloaded custom songs and I'm happy to be given that option. Should help a lot. Also, unlike most other reviewers, I like the light background a lot. Feels fresh. Some improvements I'd love the devs to consider: - different haptic response for the coins. Since the primary goal of the game is to avoid contact with the barriers and the walls, your goal ends up being to feel nothing. No sensation means you're doing well. That's already weird and unsatisfying, but then you add in these coins, which provide a delicate haptic response akin to a pool float gently bumping into you in the water. I don't even bother trying for them currently because it's so unsatisfying to touch them. Make them explode when I hit them! Make my controllers rumble! The only fun sensation in the game is punching the red walls. This game needs more physical feedback. - the barriers last too long. I'm on Hard, so maybe they get better on higher levels, but right now on this level and and on lower ones the barriers are a buzz kill. Spending two seconds holding a squat or leaning to the left or right causes me to lose all momentum built up by complicated wall poses. Don't take them away, but make them shorter and better interspersed with walls so you're ducking and weaving in time with the music. With these changes, I'd gladly bump this to five stars and recommend this. Right now, it's an alright game, but nothing I'd gush over to friends.

Attempts bad precedent for MRs future.

*PLEASE* DO NOT BUY THIS! Buy competitors who give us agency instead of using our spatial data against us. For my 'safety' the mixed reality mode will not let me face in the direction I know is safe in my playspace, instead enforcing its best guess on what direction *it* thinks is safer. My options are 're-center' (to one of several dangerous angles that would have me hit furniture) or switch back to VR mode (which will let me face the safe direction.). No other MR/exercise/rhythm game i've played has enforced its guesses about my space over my *knowledge* of my space. It would be terrible for MR if this was to become common. - giving these developers money for their paternalism is hurting MRs future, PLEASE DON'T. edit: More specifically, it latches on to what it sees as a wall - even in stationary mode, even if that wall is on the other side of furniture, and will ignore any playspace you mark out. Bear in mind this is a passthrough game, not an interactive one - and even interactive true MR usually does gives more freedom than this. Hell even most early access ones do.
