"Bogey Peaks" New Course Update!

January 4, 2023

Off The Chains Disc Golf just posted a fresh New Years update! In this update we’ve released our 8th and largest map yet, “Bogey Peaks”. This map is reminiscent of a high elevation course from somewhere like Colorado. In addition, we’ve updated the basket and chain sounds to be more realistic…

Excellent VR rendition of R-L Disc Golf.

So.. :) after playing real life disc golf for about 35 years, unfortunately Father Time took its toll :) and due to some aging injuries etc etc was only able to enjoy the sport I loved playing so much but then a few months ago thankfully came across OTC... when I first got my headset I was hoping to find something similar to disc golf, and there was two or three different variations out there but this was definitely the closest in many different aspects. Onside the multiplayer aspect, the environments of each course which are absolutely awesome, even the realism of throwing uphill, downhill, the flight path of the disc and actually just having the ability once again to throw a disc in an environment that is extremely realistic, the developers have done a wonderful job putting this game together.

Great game!

My friend and I are having a blast with this game. The mechanics seem pretty good as far as throwing goes. However, the ability to adjust yourself within your VR boundary needs some work. If I orientate myself in the direction and place I want in my boundary, it will place me facing the wrong way when I hold the A button. I’ll be on the opposite side of the disk box and trying to move myself with the controller makes it reset. Also in one game I am on top of everything. The aerial flight view of my disk is behind me and I have to quickly back up in my room to see it. This could pose a problem for smaller playing spaces One major suggestion for the developer is to PLEASE MAKE A PRACTICE RANGE FOR US TO PRACTICE THROWING. I don’t want to have to play a game to practice. Basically just make a disk driving range. That would be perfect!

Great game BUT MAJOR FLAWS

update: Now there is a new game called disc frenzy that is so much better than this one so I hope this app updates or it will become obsolete!! My good buddy bought me this game, which completely excited me since I suck at disc golf in real life. My buddy plays all the time to which me and him both have come to the agreement that it is an amazing app in terms of accuracy of throwing BUT 1. Lack of updates: with maps, new discs, and graphics 2. The out of bounds for every map is way too close, especially when you compare it to any other disc golf settings in real life and even professional disc golf places. The out of bounds just simply makes it more difficult to have a fair game whenever you take a point just for being 5 feet outside of bounds when in reality you’re only 40 feet away from the hole. 3. When using the watch it is not user friendly in terms of attempting to view it and also pushing the buttons on the watch/screen to where it is common among myself and others that it double taps an option one if attempting to choose. Developers, if you could please consider making some changes to these two things would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Super happy with the game

I'm an avid disc golfer and in my opinion this does a pretty good job of simulating the game. The putting is the one part i feel needs improving tough, I'm constantly throwing like 70-100 feet way over the basket with a putter putting the way i would in real life for a c1 putt. My biggest suggestion is to immediately turn off the second grip button in the settings. It's very difficult to grip the controller firm enough when throwing without squeezing that button accidentally and it constantly messes up your throw. First hole after I disabled it I smashed an Ace.

Good game but needs work

Good game the throwing sensitivity and mechanics need work. The amount of mental effort needed to throw a disc flat is exhausting. Even if I keep it level, the disc will fly but it will be sideways in flight but still somehow "flying". While putting, power seems all over the place. Sometimes you toss it lightly and it will fly 60ft and sometimes it'll only go 12ft. Kind of frustrating to play at the moment. I frolf irl regularly and was hoping this game was a rainy day alternative but its got a ways to go until the flight mechanics are realistic.
