Not what I expected

I am someone who loves to learn languages. And when I saw this game I knew that I had to get it as soon as it came out , however when I went into the game to check it out, on a language that I'm already familiar with (Chinese). Instead of starting off with the basics such as 你好 (hello) or 你好吗（how are you) it instantly went to learning how to say chair, bread, cup, etc. which doesn't help a new learner. And especially for a language like Chinese, Pinyin (English pronunciation) is a very important thing if you would like to learn a language, and they never explain how it works with all the accents that you need to know to read Pinyin properly. This is a great game for practicing a language, not learning a completely new language.

The best method to become fluent

I've been learning foreign languages for the last 10 years. On my road to achieving my goal I've being testing hundred of methods. The best way I found is imitation learnin, what requires you to repeat and emulate the situations to memorise words or even complete sentences. Once you use VR for it your brain create by far more connections as just trying to imagine being in a specific situation. Noun Town is my favorite place to visit even without actively learning nouns your language skills will improve by just walking around and talking with the super cool characters around. I personally recommend Noun Town for learning Chinese and Japanese.

Immersive Way to Immerse in Vocab!

Been messing with the demo on Steam, and I must say this is a fun and immersive way to get going with some vocabulary. If you're into something gameified to get going and Duolingo isn't for you, try getting into Noun Town! Devs have big plans to add more grammar & additional languages for free in the next year. Could be big if it comes to pass!

Super cute! I’ve been waiting for this!

I first heard about noun town on tiktok and followed the discord ever since. I always had a hard time learning Japanese because I live in an area that isn’t immersed in the language. Noun town gives a perfect solution to that right in my bedroom. So far, my first day was really fun! I like being able to pick up anything and learn how to say it through speech recognition. The town villagers I met so far seem a little intimidating, but I hope to fully understand them some day! I’m looking forward to use this tool in my learning journey. One thing I would love to see in the future is having to greet islanders! Or teach basic phrases first hand before talking to them.
