🌳 Immersed in the world of the spirits of the ancestresses, you are appointed, with two other guides, to accompany Nana Lou on her last journey.

On the day her granddaughter Clementine gives birth in a maternity hospital in Tokyo, Nana Lou has a stroke at home in France.

She finds herself at the hospital, stranded between life and death... By your luminous presence at her side, you help her revisit her memories and pass away in peace.

Nana Lou is a VR interactive animated tale inviting the viewer to play a spirit accompanying a grandmother during her last moments. By your luminous presence at her side, you will comfort the main character as she faces medical ordeals and help her revisit her memories to make her last journey a wonderful story.

The viewer navigates through distinctly different environments. The Tree of Life, a gigantic plant on an immeasurable scale, represents a fantastical world, an ecosystem of luminescent plants fed by a luminescent sap and the home of sparkling spirits.

In contrast, Nana Lou's clinical room is cold and realistic, its simplicity offering calm to accommodate the viewer's warmth. Lastly, Nana Lou's depict personal spaces, invaded by plants, hybrid vegetation, and ordinary objects that occasionally start to float and come to life.

Beautiful and tender

At some point we'll all end up experiencing what the characters are going through here. It's a beautiful and touching story, one that draws you in a way that only VR can. You glide from scene to scene, shifting through perspectives, scales, time and points of view. It's a miniature world in which every character, every musical note and every sound tune up to tell a universal story.

Nothing Compares Nana Lou

The precise optimization, mechanics, best practice of hand tracking and an unfolding story of a generational cycle from a mother to daughter, a grand daughter to Nana with such a dynamic environment! This is truly a love letter for those who miss their grandmother. Many thanks to writer, director Isabelle Andreani for creating this one of a kind,high-impact experience, and many thanks to Small Creative Studio and SkillLab for bringing up Nana Lou.

Gorgeous and moving

Aside from the incredibly beautiful design and sets, the fluid shifts in scale are quite startling. One minute, you're overlooking a scene with grandmother... and the next minute, you're inside the scene. The transitions are seamless and powerful. That said, at end of day, it's the storytelling that really grabs you.
