Absolutely Amazing

This game is awesome! Me and my friend played the night it released and played some of the gamemodes and had a lot of fun! Although the main thing I’d like to point out is that even though this is the first version of the game it feels like a game that has been taken to heart and developed with upmost effort. Keep up the great work!

GREAT but NOT perfect

EDIT: It has been over a year and a half since my first review and the devs clearly do not care about improving the game. They want to charge a full game price but don't consider player feedback. The overwhelming majority of players have a huge issue with the platforming sections and nothing has been done. Moreover, if it is clear the devs don't care enough to fix issues that have been present since the beginning of the development, what makes you think they will update and keep the game relevant? Do better, listen to valuable feedback from active users, and for the love of God ... change the awful jumping mechanisms (they are trash). Since my brother and I have started playing this game we have had a blast (mostly). The puzzles are always enjoyable and exciting, challenges are mostly fun (read below), spooky jump scares combined with the eerie soundtrack and captivating story make this game so much more enjoyable. Additionally, exploring the mansion is awesome + you get collectables for doing so! No matter if you are playing alone or with someone, you will enjoy this unique experience. This being said the game could use some improvements. As others have noted in the reviews, the platforming sections can be very frustrating to say the least. The jumping mechanism is far from perfect which makes the jumping challenges aggravating. For example: The section with the emblematic was extremely challenging for two reasons. One, just jumping on to the platforms is hard but then moving around as the platforms move is almost impossible. The only way I and other have been able to jump on her head to start the challenge was by using the fireplace and one platform to reach the head, but not as intended. Second, after you reach the head with the apples, no matter how physically hard I would throw the apple, the throw would not reach the target or react as it should. I thought I would be stuck here forever but luckily I made the shot after 60 tries. Another almost impossible section is the secret lab with lasers which I am now completely stuck in. I have tried over and over for the last couple of weeks but this section got the best of me. I read the develpers tips and watched walk-through videos but CANNOT pass without hitting a laser. My brother and I have stopped playing ever since. I respect all that the developers do and the great game they created but the platform sections are more frustrating than fun and takes away from the outstanding game experience. This is just my opinion but having seen multiple people complaining over the same issue and hearing it from people that have played, I consider this an issue that can be improved in the future (hopefully soon). Or at least have a skip button that can be paid with sc currency.

Complete Review

Here's a thorough review after playing the first 12% (I think the first 3 chapters?) This game is pretty decent for a free, long game. The graphics are alright, but I don't expect groundbreaking stuff here. The puzzles are well made, the story is good so far, and it's a blast to play online. The controls are nice, and there's even some mechanics I haven't seen in other horror games before. Sadly, that's about the best stuff I can say about this game. Keep in mind, this is the very first version right now, and it will get better. First, the game is confusing at first. I played the tutorial, and it was all fine until I got into story mode. There's a key on a table, and it explains how the backpack system works. I assumed the key is for the only other door in the room, but apparently not! This had me stumped for literally like an hour, and I restarted the game multiple times to see if I could figure out what to do. Apparently you have to go back to the lobby, but the lobby looked like a menu, so I assumed you wouldn't need to go back to it for story mode. Very confusing for a first objective. A lot of the missions from there are fetch quests, not gonna lie. It makes you run around getting items and bringing them places, sometimes has you searching for things. Not to mention how almost every room has to load. I know it's just for optimizations, but it doesn't help when the missions almost always have you go room to room. Heck, even one of them has you search around various rooms to find 5 drawings. That took me a while to find, especially because of all the loading. I would comment on the story, but I don't think I've experienced enough to definitively review that aspect. When it comes down to it, the only worst things is how confusing it is and all the loading. Other than that, this game has a lot of potential. I really believe this game could be big in the future with more polishing and elbow grease. Final thoughts: If you're in this for horror, I really don't necessarily reccomend. A lot of it is cheap. Sometimes they try to scare you with random laughing or screaming, and it's really nothing. Plus, the only "jumpscare" I've gotten was a girl in a dress moving slowly toward you. Doesn't even kill you so idk what that's about. I recommend it however, if you're into light horror games. For instance, you like getting scared, but you don't want to be unable to sleep that night. Overall, I'd say decent enough game to install. Even if you're not big on the horror aspect, there's some mini games without horror. I really could see this being a really good game in the future, but for now, 4/5 stars. Pleased enough.

Was fun till I found jumping didn't work

Fun game until I got stuck for hrs and have found no walk thru or info on how to jump on the moving platforms I tried everything fireplace etc I've double jumped with no success . Guess I've gone as far as I can go in this game, tried everything did find one video but I couldn't duplicate their jump after another hr of trying I'm still close but not getting any closer to the top I give up . A wee bit too difficult need a skip to just move past this objective

Messed up.

I was having a lot of fun. There's no way this game is free! Than I ran into the apple toss. Like many good puzzle games, they HAD to throw in a quick time jump platform physical test. I am not physically capable of throwing the apple far enough, I'm just not. It's bullsh** to tease me with a great game than just wall me like that. It's uneeded and doesn't flow with the game at all.
