The world’s first fast-paced hand-tracking mecha brawler!

Note: This is a free tech showcase built to explore advanced hand-tracking gameplay.

On a barren outer-system planet, the Tyris Corporation exploits the valuable resource Mercury, pushing the local population, the Heskar, into rebellion. With improvised mechs and sabotage tactics, the Heskar fight back.

In response, Tyris deploys its elite unit: RIS_TEC.

Players can experience both sides of the conflict:

RIS_TEC Mission: Hunt down and eliminate illegal Heskar mechs to restore corporate control.

Heskar Mission: Sabotage RIS_TEC cities at all costs and disrupt the occupying force

The Team & the Project

Mercury is the world’s first fast-paced VR mecha brawler controlled entirely through hand gestures, developed as a technical showcase for Meta Quest 3 and 3S.

Mercury was developed in just two months by a team of six students as part of the Meta Horizon Start Developer Competition 2025 and as a fourth semester project.

The goal was clear: Create a bold, uncompromising tech showcase that redefines what hand tracking in VR can do today.

THE HAND TRACKING SUCKS!!!

Brother, as someone who actually likes Underdogs… this game is just bad. I literally cannot move properly with the controls to save my life. It’s unresponsive, you don’t move the correct way nearly all of the time, and this is just a horrible way to sell people on hand tracking. Even though this game is free, I wouldn’t pay ANYTHING for this.
