Changed My Mind

Okay I'm going to be honest, when I first got this game I hated it. I thought the graphics were simple, waving to people to interact with them was dumb and I put it on the back burner for some time. My mistake and I want to apologize to the Devs for not giving it the proper chance the first time around. I came back into it a month ago and saw that there was now a co-op mode so, I gave it another go. And Geeeezus, this has got to be one of the best immersive games I have ever played, I mean right up there next to Skyrim VR that's been heavily modded. The weather, the hunting and just all over survival is AMAZING. I love the bow hunting aspect, having to make dinner for myself and waking up in my small home to see the mountain just past the river from my window. The people, if they are your age are great, the screaming kids are just part of vr life but hosting a game I can control that. Others are there for the same immersive experience and that really makes it fun. The building is tedious but very rewarding. A lot of resources are needed but when you grab that Deed and it pops, such a great feeling. I love how the seasons change, I woke up to freaking snow on the ground and had to completely replan my day because of it. I found that hunting is challenging when I ran into my first boar. Little B#@T@#$. With that said, I wish there was more music added to this. It always seems to be the same and during something intense, it's hard to feel that with happy town music playing. I like it I just wish there were more differences to listen too. OVER ALL: Get this game, and play it. Don't do what I did and dismiss it on first glance. Devs I can't wait to see what else there is to this game and once again I sincerely apologize for writing it off too early.

Love it but I would like more control

I've been immersed in this game for a couple of weeks. It seems like I drop my headset down over my eyes to play and when I lift it off, hours have passed. I look forward to my next session. I've finished the solo dynasty quest so I'm just building up my village at this point. The replayability has gone down a bit. I hope they come out with new quests or maybe get the opportunity to discover and inhabit a new area. I would like to have more control over my workers. I would like the option to task them to different jobs within their area, especially in the tavern. My worker uses up all my flour to make loaves of bread. I would like to be able to modify what they cook or even see them serve some of the customers. I'm sure there's still a bit for me to learn. There have been a couple of bugs in the game. My headset will freeze for a few seconds from time to time and stirring the cooking pot can be a little awkward because the spoon gets stuck. Overall, I really enjoyed the game and hope to see more in the future. I still need to try the co-op mode

Lengthy solo campaign

I have had a quest 3 for nearly two years and played alot of great games but I think this might be my favourite. The graphics are being pushed to the limit on a stand alone headset and can occasionally glitch for a second or two. I still haven't finished the solo adventure but I can confidently recommend it to anyone wanting a crafting/survival light RPG. The sound is excellent and some of the music is wonderful. The crafting and interactions are cleverly designed to be somewhat realistic but also just fun, such as skinning animals. Just preparing food is cleverly thought out, with little touches like the knife always returning to the same position when you let go so you don't lose it. As for hunting, I turned the bow sight off to make it more realistic and I think it's perfect now. I have been impressed by the missions too, they can be quite tense, especially the night ones. Love the torch too, the lighting is impressive. Overall it's just taken over my vr gaming recently and I love it. In the words of the NPCs, "Take care".

Why do the NPCs sleep w/their eyes open

Love exploring a waterfall when I spot a bear in the distance. The sky begins to turn dark and lightning strikes. Best to take the path away from the bear but bam another bear around the corner and I'm diving off cliff sides to escape. Back at my humble home I start a fire and listen to the rain as I plan my next outing. Hope for future maps and graphic enhancements as times go on.

Best Survival Game on the Quest 3

This is the best survival game I've played on the Quest 3. The only game that comes close is Surviving Mars Pioneer, but that one is completed and has no updates on the horizon. The "village" building, farming, cooking, hunting, and grinding with endless "base-building" possibilities where you lose track of time is what immersion into VR is all about. The studio isn't working on anymore updates for this either, but it's packed with so much to do that it isn't the same game twice. If you like to play games with all of those elements of survival (without dying every 30 minutes *Green Hell*) then this game is a must have.
