🚨 Full video review available by searching ‘Gamertag VR’ on YouTube🚨 Marvels Deadpool is a vr brawler made up of several chapters, some epic cinematic cut pieces which oddly can be skipped, 5 boss battles and 4 random arena fights which I’ll explain more about in a minute. The combat is all about mixing up melee and weapon based attacks sometimes for combos to charge a special meter and voilence to hype your mojo stream viewers using a huge arsenal of guns and swords which have to be unlocked using Mojo coins (more on what the mojo stuff means in a minute) and there’s lots of weapons with some that are level specific, far example when your fighting waves of zombies made up of Nova core centurions you’ll get some chargeable blasters or later on on ultra reds level you’ll get spinnaker sword blades you. Deadpool vr is all about fast movement, fast reactions, minor platforming and trying not get your limbs cut off which take sometime to grow back but it never gets old to see and your job is to simply fight your way to the end boss. Theres no open worlds segments and it’s a very straight forward A to B level design. Theres Deadpool comic books to find some of which will require some exploration but nothing major, and there’s some very cool marvel cameos, especially when you fight alongside the epic ghost rider. I want to add Marvel Deadpool is very much not what you would expect of a meta exclusive. It’s got tons of bad language and lots of violence seeing you cut enemies in half or literally in bits and it does a decent job of being what you would expect a Deadpool game to be and I’m glad in this regard it doesn’t hold back. To note there is a kid friendly mode in the options which I personally have not tried for this review, but I would assume it would remove all the gore and swearing and there’s a steamer mode which removes all the licenced music which kicks in when you build up to use your super meter which gives you limited access to some special weapons either at random or by choice like thors hammer or a deck of gambits explosively charged cards. There also some epic cinematic parts that I mentioned earlier and your offered to skip these because they are quite full on in terms of motion. but I would definitely not skip these if you’ve never had motion sickness in vr as they can be a very memorable part of the game.
