As a real life kayaker, the motions feel pretty close, I wish the kayaked rocked a little to make it much more realistic. Definitely needs a lot of sea life added. Have only come across a few fish and a giant octopus. The ice shows through the kayak, and a few spots where you can paddle into land. Overall nice start to something. Hoping it gets a lot of updates, it's promising.

I am one of the early testers of the original MarineVerse Cup game, so I have been aware of this developers work for many years now. When I realized there was a kayaking game developed by the same person I immediately got it today. Before today, I only knew of and own Kayak VR: Mirage on PCVR. Which anyone who has it or has tried it can agree it is mindblowing in its graphics and physics. I knew going into getting MarineVerse Kayaking that the graphics would not be equal to anything PCVR can produce, and that’s ok. It’s not expected. Physics, however, I did have an expectation to the similarities of Kayak VR: Mirage… It’s on the right path, but it needs work. The issue really stood out when I tried time trials. A lot of frustrating zig-zagging when turning in order to keep your line straight in the direction you want to line up to get the “stars”. I feel the reason for this is because when you dip your oar into the water to turn (no matter if you dip it deep or just lightly under the water), it turns “sharply” in the direction you want to go as opposed to the realism of being in the water and having smooth realistic experience depending on your “dipping” depth. It was frustrating. Turning has to be smooth to provide physics realism. I am very aware this is early access right now and it’s not the “final” game product, but I highly advise the developer to jump into Kayak VR: Mirage and learn from that game in order to get the turning physics dialed in better. And I know it’s not a Quest processor limitation, this is definitely something that can be tweaked and fixed to make the kayaking motion/turning physics dialed in better. If I see an improvement on this, a 5 star updated review will be guaranteed. I look forward to the improvements!

Starting with the kayak, nice clear graphics with well thought out indicators for speed ect. Paddle works well with good haptic feedback. Water and reflections are very impressive too. Images of the islands and structures just need more attention to detail which the Quest 3 is more than capable of even as a standalone headset.

As a senior citizen, I can attest that this is a great choice for seniors and persons with disabilities. It's a great way to get appropriate exercise IMO. The water is so clear I'm thinking we should see some fish swimming around underneath me. I live in a town that the Mississippi River flows through. In future development I think it would be great to see more detail, maybe a DLC or update that would mimic the backwaters in my area. We have lots of wildlife, bullrushes, and scenic bluffs overlooking it all. I hope you guys are developing it more to that purpose. Overall it is very relaxing.

Overall for early access, it's OK - a little boring as the graphics are not up to Quest 3 best levels (hopefully that will improve). And as they mentioned, they only provide 2 locations for now. The big question is whether additional locations will be included for free or will it be like their other sailing game where there are lots of add-ons you have to buy. I guess time will tell. Update: Developer responded below - but interestingly did not answer the question for this game. How many more (if any) locations will be free versus paid
