Addicting, but limited

What's great about it: You're on island time constructing civilization. You need not be concerned with money if you methodically give the city what it wants. You will generally have enough income to cover things Everything is cute and generally nice to look at. Hot air balloons regularly launch from your ever-sunny shores. The city celebrates your triumphs. Infrastructure is primary about placing buildings or turbines. No sewer to design or power lines to string out. Controls are easy, and viewing is very comfortable. The music is nice and meditative like Walkabout Mini Golf. What's not great: Six island groups is all there is. No remixes or reformulations. You can delete and start an island over if you like, but there is nothing coming after the six groups to look forward to. Unless I'm mistaken, you top out at level 25. Your island(s) are mostly filled out by now, and there's nothing indicating you should hang out and wait for the next big thing. You've reached the end of the line, and, if you're like me, you've created something pretty perfect. This is the first game I devoted a lot of time to. I'm not usually the type to do an extended session. I bought and finished this in a single weekend. I would love to see this as a part of a series of related games. This one could be Islands. Another could be Coastal or Plains, or focus on aspects like Resorts, Ports, Downtowns, or Ski Resorts.

Great Game, But There Has To Be More !!

It’s a very well developed and thought out game, with very good mechanics and integration, however it has the potential for much more and in my honest opinion and experience after playing for a while, I believe it would engage and create a much more interesting experience if … 1 - The area you are given to build was made at least twice the size to give you more to do while expanding the landscape for a bigger and better planned out city. 2 - If it had a way to connect different landscapes out of the already set out area that you can build on, while also connecting the different areas to create a even bigger and more immersive ecosystems.

Relaxing, delightful little city builder

First off I have to preface that I bought this game close to launch, played it 5 minutes, then wrote it off for being significantly simpler than the other city builder that came out around the same time (Cities VR). Since launch, this game has received multiple content and quality of life improvements. I tried it again recently and was immediately impressed with how intuitive the game handles controls compared to Cities VR. Everything is straightforward and explained well to the player so I never felt lost or unable to find a building I need. The menu on your wrist tells you everything you need to know as far as what needs to be taken care of to keep everyone happy. Sometimes I completely ignore it and just build however I want. I've completed about 5 or 6 islands now and plan to buy the snow Island DLC. The calming music sets a great vibe that cannot be understated - I wish more games had music this good. I hummed along to the tunes especially in the desert Islands. While cities VR could be a very stressful experience, the tone of Little Cities is very much about being creative, appreciating the little touches, slowing down and just enjoying building this small world for your little people. I actually wish you could get even lower to the ground with your camera so you could really see what it looks like from the street with all the people walking around and living life. At launch there were no citizens walking around so if feels much more alive now. I especially appreciate the things flying like hot air balloons, airplanes, and even flying saucers that wizz by your face. It all feels very immersive and appropriate for this genre. Overall, if you want a chill city builder with low stakes that you can vibe to and have fun, I 100% recommend this game. I especially love the support from the devs with updates, something Cities VR has lacked and left me disappointed in.

Cute but pricey

Yes this game is cute and very easy/relaxing to play but it gets very old and repetitive very quickly. It is a very shallow game. Your city feels lifeless especially as you don't even see any people walking about the place (just cars). If it was a cheaper game I would probably say yeah buy it but there is just not enough content here to justify the price. There are bigger and deeper games out there for the same price as this and less. So in short a pretty cute and relaxing game that is way overpriced and has not much actually varied content.

One my favorites

This game just blows me away. I love building games but when you're hovering in the midst of your creations, it's just next level. I love how you can view your cities from high above or drop down to practically street level. The birds and planes passing by are just amazing, and if you zoom in, the details are just impressive. I once zoomed in on a guy that was hanging out on a balcony. I watched how the birds opened their wings as they descended in an airstream. This type of attention to detail is what makes this game so amazing. The beautiful background music makes for such a comfortable, relaxing experience
