Non-traditional Honor Flight
VR and Honor Everywhere video apps are being used to provide a virtual trip to a homebound senior veteran to enable them to visit their Memorials in Washington, DC. Ohio's Hospice is including the VR experience in Central Ohio with excellent acceptance by the veterans recognized through their American Pride program. Under a new initiative, Honor Flight Columbus has begun offering the VR experience to veterans medically unable to travel on a traditional Honor Flight. While not a substitute for a traditional Honor Flight, this is a very practical and beneficial use of a 'leading edge' technology to recognize senior veterans whose health and mobility issues prevent them from travelling.
