Holopoint is pure archery madness. Fight your way through waves of responsive targets, samurai, and highly dangerous ninjas - all while drawing, nocking, and shooting your arrows as quickly as possible.

Holopoint is a skill based game where progression is based on player skill and training rather than unlocks. Like many arcade style games, personal progress and a high score is the goal. This game quickly becomes difficult and requires an active mindset. Holopoint is designed so that only a few determined archers will reach the last wave.

WARNING: THIS GAME GETS INTENSE. REMEMBER TO BREATH AND TAKE BREAKS.

Less of a game and more of a workout

If you like VR archery but you also want some exercise, then this is definitely the game for you. You're almost constantly in motion, ducking, dodging, and twisting to avoid a onslaught of of targets. It's a lot of fun, but exhausting. I started two weeks ago and could only manage about 30 minutes, now I'm up to an hour and on wave 28/30... it's pretty addictive, albeit very simple gameplay. It's more about speed than anything else. If you're looking for something about accuracy or range, this is probably not the game for you : speed and body movement are everything. I would say it's definitely exercise-oriented. Though simple, the variety and randomisation of targets is sufficient to keep it interesting. The level difficulty is slightly non-linear, which keeps the feeling of progress and stops you getting exhausted too quickly. There's not much in the way of instruction, which occasionally makes things confusing, but things are generally simple enough to learn that you can figure it out for yourself. My biggest frustration was finding the sweet spot for loading the arrow, but once you've got that, things become a great deal easier. There's definite scope for improvement here. More, much stronger haptic feedback would help (seriously, the bow-drawing haptic in Elven Assassin is perfect, why hasn't anyone else imitated that ?), especially to tell if you've drawn an arrow and if you've been hit. Better sound to give more cues as to where the targets are would also help, as would having a variety of music. All in all it's very solid if you're sick of sitting around like a couch potato all day, but somewhat limited if you're more interested in gameplay. EDIT : Bumped up my rating to 5 stars following a VERY nice graphical update plus a whole new game mode. In my opinion this now makes it excellent value for money. Great to see it's still in development ! I play it daily for exercise and it's very effective.

Best active VR game period

This is by a large margin the most consistently exciting high-moent game I've played in VR. Even in great rythem games like Beat Saber and Synth Rider, you are training to do the exact same thing every time. That's fun. But by comparison, this he - where you're going your ability to respond to an infinitely varied set of physical and mental challenges - is life changing. You really feel like you're training in the dojo in the Matrix, and you're becoming Hawkeye. This game also makes the best use of 3d space of any game other than Thrill of the Fight. It's all about running, spinning, ducking dodging and always shooting your way forward. This humble game is the single best justification of VR you can find. The oculus would be worth it for this alone.

Good game, terrible internet requirement

EDIT: I found out that this internet requirement has been going on since July because I found a review stating the same issue. WHY does it require internet to play this game?? Did Oculus / Meta force them to do it? Did they not know that implementing some online feature like a leaderboard will make it an internet requirement? It can't be the absolute latter... Space Pirate Trainer, a game released a year or so before this game did, has a leaderboard but will let you play offline at least. Maybe they should consult with those developers if they honestly don't know how to go about removing the internet requirement... ORIGINAL: I own the original Holopoint on Steam and it was a blast to play. Really got you moving and gave you a good workout. When I found out it was the Quest, I brought it immediately. Honestly, initial release wasn't great, but they ironed out some of the bugs so now it's kind of almost like the original. I took it to work and wanted to show the game to a friend... and then he told me that he can't play it because app said it required internet! I had to see it for myself and yes, the game is disabled until I connect it to Wifi. I'm sorry but that's absolute BS. Here, I was going to show off this cool game to someone and finding out it requires an internet connection is an extremely big turn off. And I was hoping to play more often at work during lunch break because I don't have a lot of space at home. Devs, if you're reading this, REMOVE THE INTERNET REQUIREMENT!!! I don't know if you didn't realized this was enabled during development or if this is by design. Either way, it's dumb and stupid; I don't care who I compare to on the online leaderboard, I just want to play the game anytime and anywhere without an internet connection!

Feels Amazing

After playing it for a while I agree with everyone saying that this game is a keeper. Very fast paced challenging action, with plenty of enemy varieties and levels. You're probably gonna sweat quite a bit. Controls are super intuitive: grab the bow with one hand, put the other in the back to grab an arrow, position the arrow, pull and release. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars (so far) is because it definitely needs to polish its UI to make it prettier and clearer - and maybe let you customize your dojo, bow and arrow. Nothing future updates can't fix or improve on, and the gameplay is already solid - which is the most important part tbh.

They did it! They really did.

Not much more to say, they took the best fun VR fitness game today and moved it on to a VR headset running an old mobile phone chip. Thanks, I waited for this since buying a Quest! The quest was made for this game, no more getting tangled in cables fearing you broke your gfx card, no more banging your head against the desk in your small a** office. No, go dominate the living room like a real ninja archer.
