A trippy pop up book-like puzzle

Great to see a game that just released on Steam and other platforms gets a release on Oculus Go also (it was already on PS4). Feels like a fresh new experience. Graphics are very jaggy, but overall it's smooth and good fun. Plays like a trippy pop up book where you can interact with a ton of things. Although I have only played finished the first box, I thought it was worth it to share my experience. Double Fine Games (via KO_OP) deliver quality as usual.

frickin awessome

I had this in my library a long time and never played til today. wow is it awesome great use of vr, visuals, gameplay and fantastic clever puzzles. I like how each level is very different and has completely different way for solution. I just did like 6 in a row and cant wait for me.so much detail and experimentation in each level a must have in anyone's library

Despite having some control issues and uneven difficulty, I think GNOG is a real gem. It has a terrific art style, great sound design, and rewarding game play. Each box contains a unique, self-contained world waiting to be unlocked. Though I have played similar puzzle games on other platforms, none of them were nearly as charming. Though the game is pretty short, it is a very memorable experience. Its trippy visuals and unique world design help it to stand out in a market over-saturated by puzzle games. AAA

Considering the sad landscape here on the Oculus Go platform, this game is a real standout. The fact that it's not promoted more (never saw it in the Spotlight or Apps We Love, or, in fact, in any other section on the Oculus store home page) is criminal. It's one of those rare truly original multiplatform games that are also available on the Go. You can get it for the flat screen PC, PS4 and even iphone. And imagine pretty much any other Go/Gear-VR title on Steam - it would be demolished for being primitive, short and/or ugly. But Gnog has very positive reviews even though it costs more there. That should be all you need to know. With all that said, this is a puzzle game and nothing more. There are no-to-very little VR thrills to be had here (although it's in full 3D VR, of course). There are also only 9 levels, but the game feels actually long enough, possibly due to pretty much zero repetition. Every puzzle is not like any other. Difficulty is just right - keep your eyes open and you won't need any hints. On the negative side, controls are a bit finicky and there have been no updates since August 2018, but it is to be expected considering they probably made zero profit on this particular version.

Fun

It's a fun little game where you have to play around with different "boxes" and figure out what it's all about. I just wish the graphics were more crisp. It's probably not using the full resolution of the Oculus Go so every line is jagged which is a shame since the game concept is beautiful. I hope they are going to fix the poor visuals so it will be a better experience. UPDATE: I didn't receive an official response from the developer but I think they upgraded the graphics because it looks much better now. Thank you! Great little game!
